Never heard one note from this composer, but since he's of the romantic era, I think I might enjoy this.

George, Berlioz was the first genuine, filmic, art music composer. His ground breaking approaches to orchestration and deviation from accepted structural norms, including his revolutionary introduction of the id�e fixe, informed Liszt and then ultimately Wagner, who would universalize the leitmotiv, influencing every composer during and following his staggeringly successful career as an opera composer.

I'd also suggest tracking down Berlioz's infamous Symphonie Fantastique and its lesser known sequel, L�lio.

It is very important that you read my instructions in all my threads, because depending on what kind of disk I'm posting, the procedure for you to get the music is frequently different from one thread to another.

This has been re-upped AND REMASTERED and is available for download again.

When I first uploaded this last year, it was at 96 kHz for the SACD layer. Since then, I have learned that it is better to rip SACDs at 88.2 kHz, because that way the waveform is proportional to the original DSD signal, which results in smoother sound at the higher frequencies. I don't know if it will make an audible difference to anyone, but especially considering that it also makes for slightly smaller .flac files, I figured it would be a good move to make, regardless.

(The artwork/scans and the standard CD Audio version are exactly the same as before.)

(The links are in the OP now. I�m not doing links via PM anymore. That absolutely wore me out.)
