I started collecting back in 1997 all sorts of game albums. Over the years I've noticed small community's come and go or be so reduced to a small handful of semi active users..

To those of you who have been around, have you noticed a dwindling of havens for people who enjoy that type of music.. ( Anime albums too )

On a side note, this site seems semi active, does any one know if there are any plans to revitalize it ?

Thank you

What I've noticed in the past year or two is a severe decline in the activity of the Video Game Music Download Links. I remember in 2013 (that's when I started browsing on a usual basis) and 2014, it was very active, at least in comparison to now, to which it's very quiet.

Well I would list some of the places I've seen come and go but seeing as how sensitive an issue , I would rather not get accused of spamming.,. Suffice to say I've seen a DC hub decline, large groups break up and gather in smaller numbers at various sites. I think the glory days are some what over. Who knows. Just my 2 cents

Hm. I've seen places die, survive, rise from the grave and become better than they were before. The usual.
As for the Shrine, well I don't think things got really worse; speaking on a more general level, I guess it is normal to have periods of time in which there's a "decrease of activity".

- Users come and go on this kind of places;
- As time passes, some of the active sharers may leave/stop sharing for one reason or the other/stop ripping games… Stuff like that.

Now, if the downloaders are lucky, "new blood" will come and become some kind of replacement, if not, well… Even the downloaders might leave in search of an active board or, heck, start legally buying albums, learn how to rip music from games. It's a cycle.

The few places I visit are still active (even after years), but to speak the truth, some of them focus more on magazines, stuff like doujinshi, gaming guidebooks/strategy guides… While Anime and Video Game Music gets shared, it's done on a more personal/private level, folks actually get to talk to each other: discover they have an appreciation for that kind of stuff and share. It's not out in the open like what happens here.

EDIT:
Revitalizing the Shrine? Heh, good luck with that.
