Hello, everyone! I believe this is the first time I've ever posted a thread, but for this I'll be sure to make it count.
I'm currently in the works of creating an Original Sound Version for a couple of the more infamous games in the Sonic series, starting with Sonic the Hedgehog 2006.
I will include every version of the vocal themes appearing in the game, every version of the stage themes, and any event scores that I can find, distributed to you guys in both FLAC and MP3 formats for your enjoyment.
For now, this project is still in its development stages, but in the meantime, perhaps you can help in some way. A couple of versions of Dreams of an Absolution are a little difficult to come by, particularly the K-Klub Remix and the original Nightlight remix. I'd be great to have them in lossless format, but if not, it won't be a deal-breaker.
Hope you guys are looking forward to this release!
EDIT: Album cover created -
EDIT 2: The first disc of the album has been completed! I've decided to release these discs one at a time instead of all at once so that you'll have something to tide you over until the end of this project.

What's gonna be different from the official album, aside from including covers of the songs? I thought it was fairly complete with its stage music, but then again I've never played this game.

It did, regardless of the game being the opposite.

I had the same thought before I remembered the editions both !!!!! and 3DMan had on modern Sonic soundtracks, how much more material there was than I had thought before.
Still, this being 06, I'm not sure what else is there.

This release will include all of the tracks from the OST and their different versions, the vocal album Several Wills, ripped audio from the game's sound bank, and even the music that came with the XBLA demo of the game if I can figure out how the heck to convert the .xma file format.

To be fair, most of that disc space is dedicated to Dreams of an Absolution remixes. XD

Three of which that are very lossy. One is excusable, but the other two are baffling. Where did you get the two TRANS//LATION versions from?
Also, where did you get the unreleased instrumental versions from? I've never heard of them.

If you wanna know how to convert XMA file there one convert capable of :
http://hcs64.com/files/towav.zip
But the thing is...you have to loop manually and amplify the volume :P

They were swimming around in the game's audio files. As for the TRANS//LATION material, both of those were received straight from YouTube because they're only in MP3 files digitally anyway and the physical CDs are impossible to find. If someone could find a way to get a hold of them and rip into a lossless format, that would be a huge help, and I'll be sure to update the folders accordingly. But for now, this is what I have been able to release.

Other than that, I can assure you that all the rest of the release will be in proper lossless format.

I know Bentley Jones website sells CDs, but TRANS//LATION 3 is unfortunately sold out, meaning it will be a while before it pops up in lossless.

Rest assured, if it does become available sometime, I will update the OSV accordingly. But for now, just consider these as placeholders.

I will buy TRANS//LATION 2 eventually, so you will get that one version in proper form.
Also, you didn't answer my question: where did you get the unreleased instrumental versions from?

Oh, my apologies. Both were found in the game's sound archives.
And I would really appreciate the Trans//lation 2 thing. Be sure to leave a message my way whenever that happens! I really hope The Complete Anthology becomes available soon.

Oh wait, you actually answered it before. Whoops
I'm considering getting it now, but I can't be certain yet.

Also, how could one be lossy when the other is lossless? So inconsistent.

The Dreams one was actually a YouTube rip, because the source where I found the His World one just kept looping it and abruptly cut it off right at the end of the file.
As a matter of fact, I did find a gamerip OST for the Sonic 06 Xbox 360 release, but it's all in .xma format. That thing is notorious for being seemingly impossible to convert to other formats, so I went with the next best thing available.
Again, I'm doing my best with what I'm able to obtain at the moment, and this is still a work in progress.

It's not useless. I'm just using a Mac, and I can't even run it using Wine.

Unfortunately not. This file format is infamously difficult, even more so with the equipment I have.

Well, this one hasn't been updated in a long time :p
Considering that I love the Sonic expanded sets !!!!! and 3DMan have done, I'd love for this one to get finished at some point.

Thank you. ☺ It's rare that a Sonic soundtrack disappoints. The games may not be the best, but the soundtracks are definitely worth collecting.
I'm currently in the works of creating an Original Sound Version for a couple of the more infamous games in the Sonic series...
That would be so awesome! 👍😃
