Dedictated to the memory of one of the greatest composers of Film Music

I have always been a great admirer and fan of Jerry Goldsmith.
It is very curious that we can love a stranger as if it was someone in your family and even that the stranger does not know you!
Well that's how I've always liked Jerry Goldsmith!
I knew that one day I could share this joy with others, So I hope those who have never seen this little portrait of 71 minutes will find as much fun as me!
This was a tribute that I had prepared for July 21 day of his death, but I was not at home! Just to say that we will never forget him!

Fantastic work! I wanted to add that I agree with you. Goldsmith was one of those composers who provided so much wonder and mysticism in his music that I feel blessed to have grown up with. Beautiful melodies, great exchanging tempo and ostinato pieces, miss his talent dearly

Thank you so much, Calderas! I remember the news of Jerry's passing very clearly; and after all these years, it still pains me. It's such a pleasure to see him at work, though it's a shame we don't have even more interviews with, and retrospectives on, him and his work.

As I write that, though, it occurs to me that I haven't actually looked very hard for Jerry-related books, articles, etcetera. Do you or anyone else here have any recommendations? I'd love to dig deeper into his career, work style, techniques, collaborative relationships and so forth.

Thanks so much for this share... Goldsmith has always been my favourite composer, who could still write engaging and melodic scores right up until the end... not many can claim that!

Hi Calderas, thank you so much for sharing this video of Jerry Goldsmith - Film Music Masters - A Portrait of Jerry Goldsmith this version is by far the best copy available for those who were unlucky and missed the chance to own the original DVD version, now long out of print. Jerry Goldsmith still holds a special place in many people's hearts and it's a sad loss, he's why I love film music, and why I still listen today, I even had the chance to meet him a few times while he was in London, and I even managed to go to a recording session, these are now just memories. No other composer was as varied in his composition then he was, there will be no other. All I can say is just enjoy the music.
