It s 2 differents labels even there are closer, it s a new La-La Land release so a gem! So a must have.

The bluray could use a remaster. Before POTC, this was a fun and campy pirate movie.
I remember seeing the teaser trailer in theaters when they used LoDuca's Evil Dead/Army of Darkness soundtrack for it.

True, Varese is the Easier of the 3.

That's because Varese has an european distributor so it makes it easier to buy anywhere, kinda.

I wish Intrada and La-La-Land would do the same but I guess they want to be independent still.

Some thoughts : I didn't know very well this score, and now I know why I forgot it : No great musical ideas here, only big orchestrations for a great orchestra. You play these tunes on a piano and it's just boring ! John Debney is very poor composer. I think it's more an arranger than a real composer, like many of the musicians working in Hollywood today. If you want some great Swashbuckler scores, listen THE SEA HAWK by Korngold, NATE AND HAYES by Trevor Jones, some works by Lee Holdridge... See you guys ;o)

Thanks man! I've had the original CD for ages. Been wondering wether this version sounds better? I mean, the recording quality of the original is pretty good, but it's a very subdued sound and could use some 'dusting off' if you get what I mean...

Edit: So I've just had a listen to it and... I don't know, it sounds kinda bad. Like way too much treble, not enough mids, the bass is booming. The disco smile is strong with this one. I'll keep the prometheus release with this one for now, unless SonicAdventure perhaps chooses this one as one of his next projects. I don't want to sound negative to OP btw, because still, thanks a lot for sharing! It just has this expanded la-la-land sound that is often hit or miss for me. But mucho gracias anyway, you the man!
