And yes, I can already see some of the replies here. This is by no means pointed or directed at ANYONE specific, but rather drawn from the years I've been a part of this community.

Whenever I've shared something here, I want to make it as unique, complete or fulfilling our musical searches as much as possible.

I don't need thanks. The mere fact that almost daily, I've had someone send me a PM to request something like the Back to the Future 30th Anniversary set is thanks enough, because if they were thankful, they wouldn't have asked. By the same token, those endless requests have become my reps. It's nice and all to see those reps in the notifications, but the experience becomes more rewarding when I see someone ask me for links I'm happy to provide. Otherwise, why did I post the freaking thing in the first place? It's a service I provide. And I worked hard on the thing, so it provides my satisfaction endlessly.

On posting link downloads, I know there may be those in these forums who cannot use easier servers like Mega. Perhaps it's not available where they live. Whatever. I get that. But for those who do use Mega, please for our sakes, can we stop with the endless clicking on "SKIP THIS AD" buttons??? Seriously, are we not all after the same things here? Why must we JUMP and LEAP through your hoops needlessly, and most of the rest of us do not put the contributors through that same charade?

And for those who do use Mega... can you please learn how? Could you combine all your files together into a zip or RAR file FIRST, before you upload it? I really don't like having to download 50 music files, one at a time, because they weren't already packaged together for easier download. Provide your entire links when you post, including the decryption key, unless you provide that last bit of code in your PM's when you send a link.

Ok.

I'm done for now. Don't hate me. I'm not perfect, and I've made some mistakes in uploads I've had to go back to and fix. We all do. But we're all here for the same reason. Can't we all just help each other out a bit?

Two points:

1) Links get posted through redirects/etcetera also because users are trying to have them stay active longer (not everyone is trying to make money, some of us had files and file-hosting accounts taken down because of Copyright violations);

2) When you are on MEGA, select multiple files like you would do when you are selecting multiple files within a folder (CTRL+Left Click)->Right Click->Download as ZIP. I guess you should learn to use MEGA better, heh?

I always get errors when I do the download as zip. It's always corrupted or some other archive problem.

Corrupt archives means you need an updated extractor.
Or a better one.

For "RAR", there's a generic "unrarlib" library that a lot of free programs use.
But this library is outdated and pure garbage.
So just another reminder you get what you pay for.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAR_(file_format)#Extracting_RAR_files

An older version of the unrar source was the basis for an obsolete free software unarchiving library called "unrarlib", licensed under the GPL, but it could only decompress archives created by RAR versions prior to 2.9. Archives created by RAR 2.9 and later use different formats not supported by this library.

Most software programs don't bother informing users what's being used.
A number of free extraction programs on MAC systems do not work for all archives.
Some users here like to use RAR5 for archiving. Which absolutely needs updated software, at least from 2015 and up.
Something from 2001 will not work anymore. And something that's no longer developed won't work anymore.

Windows is eaiser. Just update either WinRAR or 7-zip.
Even the alpha/beta for 7-zip works.
Mac, good luck and god bless your brave soul. And convert to Windows.

My apologies. had a really bad day, one that chose to coincide with a troublesome download, and I vented.

Hopefully no harm no foul.
