I'm doing very well.
Though, I was awake for almost 36 hours until I was finally able to go to sleep last night.
That 'nap' screwed up everything.

I used to always donate blood. One day I got a letter from the red cross saying WE COULD NOT USE YOUR BLOOD BECAUSE IT CAME UP POSITIVE FOR THIS WACKY THING. And then the wacky thing was some crazy sounding series of letters I had never heard of.
Then they were like, we did a second screening, and it came up negative! That means there's a 99.9% chance you don't have it and it was a false positive. However because of the positive you can never ever donate blood again for as long as you live.
I went to the doctor to get blood work done to be sure and they were like yeah, there's nothing wrong with you.
I called the red cross to see if my doctor could send them a letter and clear me or something and they were like NOPE. NEVER AGAIN, TK. FUCK YOUR BLOOD.
So yeah some people are dead because I'm not allowed to give blood anymore

And that is by nobody's fault but theirs, and strict regulations.

It's a shitty situation but for all I know they might have good reason for such a strict policy.

Don't be so dramatic. Unless you're O- there's probably a wealth of other donors they can receive blood from.
It's a good policy because if I were receiving blood I'd be much more comfortable with getting blood that had never had a problem than blood that had had a negative result just once, even if it was an error. Because what if it wasn't an error?
There's probably nothing at all wrong with your blood, and in that case it's a shame you can never do it again, but better safe than sorry.

You should know by now I say goofy things. :)
The red cross is always saying that they don't have enough blood for everybody who ends up needing it, though. Whether this is true or just a tactic to get as many people to donate as they can, who knows, but the possibility certainly does exist! However like I said just above there is often good reason for policies even when it's not immediately obvious.
And no, there isn't anything wrong with my blood. This was over 10 years ago. I think I'd have noticed by now if I had whatever it was.

Why not donate plasma instead?
You get paid for doing that. Although if they fuck up, like what happened to TK, you can get deferred for an amount of time, in some cases permanently.

That's really confused me. My real name is Callum, but you wouldn't know that. I'm assuming you're not talking about me.
