Project Description
Preface: INFERNO (Sequel to Angels & Demons) is Hans Zimmer's next score, and will be my next central focus, so you guys better familiarize yourselves with TDVC and A&D.
As with The BvS Trailer, this trailer for the next big HZ score was pretty good. When it arrived, I was pretty annoyed because it sounded very promising, but the music was not included in the domestic version of the teaser, it was only found in the international teaser. Which means our sources for trailer stems or versions mixed in 5.1 had not been sent that version of the trailer through their press releases and whatnot, so we had almost zero chance of getting a viable clean source for editing the music for some type of listen-ability. Then I did some serious digging, half way believing the music was RCP-sanctioned.
The music was based on a track called Tunnel Drop by Mx Montage, but it isn't the same. The entire track has been micro-edited and added to by Hans Zimmer's team and the whole ending is different. Luckily, the original composer firm provided the stems for the complete track and I was able to completely reconstruct the version of the music heard in the trailer, with all of the new music included, I wrote it all in myself. I sampled all of the RCP percussion and transitions, etc. They basically turned a piece of paper into an origami with their editing, but I got it finished in one sitting.
tl;dr I was given the opportunity to edit this trailer properly, perfectly, without half-assed, shitty sources. I actually get to show off the full force of my type of work for once.
Just for the sake of showing the differences, and the actual editing job, screenshots:
