I shared the CAM CD of this score a while ago (still available here (Thread 176100)) and although it only got 4 replies there were about 300 views, so I assume quite a few people downloaded it. Those with sharp ears may have noticed that the first note on some tracks sounds distorted, as if the tape is wobbling. You can hear it particularly on tracks 2 and 3. It’s not just my CD - you can hear it on the iTunes version as well. So it’s a CAM mastering glitch.
I’ve always wondered if this was inherent in the original tapes, so recently I bought a sealed copy of the RCA Red Seal LP — and the distortion is not on the vinyl.
I doubt many people are bothered by the problem - it’s quite subtle and very fleeting - but I thought I’d share my LP rip anyway.
