Michiru Oshima provides another sweet score for the 2006 live-action family film, Wanko ("Puppy"). Like so many other cute-animal films aimed at kids, "Wanko" is a simple, heart-warming tale on the life of beloved family pet. The main theme is quite pleasant and appears in many variations: full orchestra, solo piano, fan-flute, etc. The arrangements are unmistakably Oshima and include some of her usual light Gershwin touches. This is happy music---no dark clouds allowed! The final track, a synth "barking" out Jingle Bells, will either have you smiling or reaching for the barf bag. A sequel, "Wanko: The Movie 2" appeared in 2008, but was not scored by Oshima.
31 tracks on Pony Canyon CD #PCCR 00438. Released in 2006.

NOTE: This is the same score I uploaded to the Michiru Oshima Thread in 2013, so if you already got it there, you don't need it again from here. It was transferred to its own Thread not only because FFS now requires that, but because it makes it much easier to find than having it buried in another Thread.
