You don't even pronounce it ten-two do you? I always said x-2 when I talked about it...and plus none of the final fantasies except that one had a sequel, so if x-2 came out called 11, people wouldn't think it was a sequel, so it makes sense to me.

Whenever I talk to my friends I always say the sequel to FFX, then they get me, but they never understand when I say FFX-2!! Ugh!

Well looking at it in normal terms, you would think that anything 2 would be a sequal to that anything. So to people who've never heard of FF, it's just logical that XI would be the sequal to X. They won't understand until you tell them that each game is completely independent from one another. If they still don't get it, they're thick.

but...your friends should know that every final fantasy has a different world..different characters...Except X-2...this final fantasy is on the same world as FFX (spira) with the same characters except Paine...

That is true. For they do not understand the each number of Final Fantasy is a compleatly different story whatsoever. But some just can't get it.

I think that it would be common mistake for people who don't play FF to ask why it's called 10-2 instead of 11, because they have no idea how the numbering of the games work. My friends do it too and it does get annoying but I don't get mad at them cuz it's not their fault they don't understand.

I also say ten two. If people look at me in a weird way, I say 'I play the continuation of part ten' or 'I play the second part of ten'.

They didn't call it 11, because it still belongs to FF 10. And in the beginning, it wasn't planned to continue a part that is there already. That was the first time they ever did that, and I think it was the ok to name it FF-10/2 instead of FF-11. ;)

For the record, on the ads for it that were shown on television, it was referred to as Ten-Two. Therefore, that's the official title and I don't have any problem saying that. That's always what seemed right to me anyway. In fact, I have that ad as an MP3 and would be happy to send it to anyone who prefers Ten-Two and wants to try to convince others of it.

Well, I'm sorry then. I get this shit every single day I go to school, because one of my friends happen to hate the game, even though he haven't ever tried it. He sais the title is so dumb and meaningless he doesn't even want to see it. I showed him a screenshot once, and he loved it. Then I told him it was FFX-2 and he said it sucked.

i call it Ten-two out of habit, 11 sounds wierd, i mean, x-2 ISNT ff11! its the sequel to Ten, just imagine num.10 has been seperated into two parts, and then theres 10, 10-2, and 11 ect ect.

Telling the truth, it's stupid to pursue this topic anymore. Some people are just thick, some people call Final Fantasy X- f f x. Final Fantasy X-2- f f x 2. This is pretty simple and can be summed up into one post, so I see no sense posting anymore.

I Usually Think Of X-2 As The 'Proper' 11th Part To The Offline Series. That Way It Makes A little More Sense When 12 Comes Along, And So theres Not That Gap For People Who Don't Really Get Into The Online 11, As That Is Kinda a Different Thing To The Original Series, I.e It Dosent Really Have its Own Complete Storyline And No Concrete Characters That Symbolise It, I Usually Think of It As the Final Fantasy "war" Game, Thats Kinda Like A Break From the Series and A Fun Mission.

I Still Refer To X-2 As X-2, But Also Place It As The Offline Non RP 11th Part.
I Hope thats Not That Confusing In Itself, It's Pretty Straighforward.
