The Cycle of Love
Fighting the fire
Feeling the desire
That forever burns inside
Arms reaching out
From within a shout
That you hold back and hide
Stretching for the truth
Or hanging from the noose
The same thing in your eyes
Holding your head
As you lay awake in bed
Trying to keep away the lies
Forever you are reeling
Being kept from believing
That that you have any sanity left to save
Being lost without meaning
Finding life to be deceiving
As you feel your essence rot away
Being left on your own
Coldness chilling to the bone
As sanity escapes from your hold
Pressed to the dirt
Now doubting your worth
Trying to manage lifes heavy load
You now hide from the sun
And from the moon you will run
Until your life has been made undone
For you have been turned away
And left for dead you lay
By the one whom you thought you loved
You try to press on
But the road seems so long
And your legs give in more to each step
But with a heavy heart you continue to labor
And your hope becomes grater
Looking back to the darkness from which you crept
And so you see the face
Of a new love to chance
And you cling to this new hope
But soon they will leave
And again you will see
Yourself dangling by a rope
So you plunge into despair
Starting not to care
Feeling helpless yet again
And so on it goes
While you will never even know
You are right back where you began
Fighting the fire
Feeling the desire
That forever burns inside
Arms reaching out
From within a shout
That you hold back and hide
Stretching for the truth
Or hanging from the noose
The same thing in your eyes
Holding your head
As you lay awake in bed
Trying to keep away the lies
Forever you are reeling
