So there I was going through some old Goldenthal film sessions. I was browsing through Titus and low and behold I heard something which sounded eerily familiar. I couldn't quite place it. It took me a solid twenty minutes listening to this one short section of Goldenthal's work on repeat, and then it hit me. It was used.. perhaps even copied and pasted, into the track "Mantis" composed by Neil Davidge for Halo 4!

Here is a spectrogram comparison between [6M58] Titus Summons Kinsman (Elliot Goldenthal, 1999 -- Top 2) and Mantis (Neil Davidge, 2012 -- Bottom 2)

And here is a short 5 second audio comparison:

Mantis (2012) https://db.tt/noMCkYiF

Thoughts about this?

Tyler Bates did something similar (http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=43965&forumID=1&archive=0) when he "wrote" the score for 300. I guess the Titus score is really that good.

Tyler Bates did the same thing by copying Titus when he "wrote" the score for 300. I guess the Titus score is really that good.

I think it's interesting because nowhere has Neil Davidge even aknowledged having sampled Goldenthal's work. It's a conspiracy!

So a second time, Goldsmith gets backhanded by colleagues. Conspricy indeed!

aknowledged having sampled Goldenthal's work

Neither did Bates when he did "Returns a King" (vs. "Victorious Titus").

To be fair, BT got ripped off when TSFH sampled his "War Begins" track from the Children of Dune tv series.

Everyone stabs each other.

Also, Davidge needs to get the rights to "Push" so he can release a soundtrack for that.
Just a small site rip and the end credits exist for that.
