Intriguing... How did you manage to make it surround sound?
Well, the "short version":
1. Restoration of the original "Orchestral Suite From The Inner Light" audiofile [32-bit floating-point/48 kHz].
2. Dividing file in the different 5.1-channels.
3. Sound placement on a "virtual stage" (selected instruments).
4. Using (inter alia) a convolution reverb to simulate the original "20th Century Fox Scoring Stage, Los Angeles".
5. Mastering.
6. Dithering.
7. Converting MASTER [32-bit floating-point/48 kHz] in [24-bit/48 kHz] and [16-bit/44,1 kHz].

Hello, Lukas. If I may have a link. Also, what software did you use for the conversion to 5.1 audio? I have been attempting to upmix an MP3 file to 5.1 audio on an open source freeware called Audacity.

6. Dithering.
7. Converting MASTER [32-bit floating-point/48 kHz] in [24-bit/48 kHz] and [16-bit/44,1 kHz]
you mean:
6. Dithering [24-bit/48 kHz] and [16-bit/44,1 kHz].
7. Converting.
anyone trying to replicate that, don't want them getting the wrong ideas. ;)

I put my procedure in highly simplified terms, sorry. :)
In principle I agree. But dithering/converting sometimes happens at the same time (for example during bouncing or in a stand-alone application ["Saracon"]). Sometimes not (e.g. plug-in). ;)

DAW (depends on the project): Nuendo 6, Sequoia 13 or Pro Tools 12. Plug-in for creating 5.1 or 7.1 multi-channel stems from stereo source material (amongst other things): UM225/UM226 (Waves).
Also: RX5 (iZotope), Saracon (Weiss), Altiverb 7 (Audio Ease).

Links recieved! Thank you very much indeed, Lukas. Trouble is that when I opened the RAR file, I got the "can't open file" warning. I'm a Windows 7 user. I thought I asked for just the 5.1 audio FLAC file. Can you re-upload it on my PM please? Thanks.
