A few MoS themes are sprinkled all throughout BvS. And there’s 2 new renditions of Clark’s theme. It’s pretty awesome.
The only thing I really hope the score delivers is a strong distinction in both the heroes’ themes. For instance, Zimmer’s Spider-Man theme was drastically different than his Superman theme.

That’s Junkie for you. The less time he gets (as a replacement composer), the cheaper sounding it becomes. And he was the replacement for most of the time. While I like his music well enough, it always sounds like demos.
No it’s not just XL. It’s the same with trailer music and other blockbuster scores. There was a time in the beginnings of Immediate Music with Themes for Choir And Orchestra series when all trailer music were real orchestras with a 60 piece choir. Now you rarely find such music anymore, which is a shame cause nothing beats the epicness of real choir singers. While a fake alien sounding choir was cool the first time I heard it, it now just sounds cheap 🙂

While you’re right about that, I’d argue that since we had this drumming thing in Man of Steel, it makes perfect sense to have it in its sequel as well.
Note that between Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, this drumming thing didn’t appear in any movie scored by Zimmer. That’s because it is Junkie XL’s signature style, not Zimmer’s. Hans is not the one to blame for this drumming repetition.

The two leakers (so far) pretend they found a "smart way" to play with the URLs, but we just don’t know if it’s any real or just some bullshit excuse. If it was just playing with URLs, I’m sure many more people would’ve already figured it out and leaked the full thing. Because many, many fans probably tried (and failed).

Apart from collecting I don’t really see the appeal of sessions. I had quite a few in the past but usually ended up deleting them cause they mostly split tracks from the commercial releases or don’t add anything worthwile apart from some variations on a theme here and there. For me personally they inject the commercial album with a lot of filler and ambiance. I also listen to trailer music and other genres so I usually tend to stick to my ‘Best of composer X’ playlists these days.
One notable exception are Zimmer releases. He usually gets it very wrong when compiling albums and leaves off the better epic/drama tracks in favor of dark ambient tracks. I don’t know if he does this on purpose or the general lack of sense what the public loves/wants. Stuff like ‘No time for caution’ and ‘Escape from Ship’ spring to mind. I usually add such session tracks on the end of commercial albums labeled as ‘bonus track’. 🙂 There are some exceptions like the sessions of POTCAWE that are really enormous upgrade on the commercial release but those are far between. Especially since the digital age they tend to release more cues of scores where in the past you had very short albums due to high reuse licence fees for american orchestras.
mgm leaked it last March under a sock puppet account, but DAK popularized it. Then The Great Leak of 2015 began, with people posting whatever rare scores they had for various reasons.

Is there a certain risk with leaking sessions? It seems like there are lots of people who are against it. As a casual listener, I just enjoy having extra material from scores that I really like, and don’t really understand the controversy.
Now I completely understand not leaking BvS this early, but there are plenty of sessions which, (assuming anyone has them) would be amazing to hear.

I asked for no request because people were asking for material I just didn’t have access to. Not every trailer has stems. And also a lot of users were asking for stems from films years ago that weren’t even on the press site.

Nobody talks about music anymore. It’s all about what you have or not have. Or insulting or offending others about their taste in music. I wasn’t like this in the beginning.

Well if the zip file is publicly shared here, you’re right.
But if one of you had just posted the link to the official watertower website, it would’ve been no piracy at all. You just share a link to their website. They uploaded their music without any password or protection, directly available for download for anyone. It’s their fault.
Instead somebody warned them, to make sure no one else would be able to get it. Of course, after he downloaded the full thing for himself.

The trailer thread is more friendly for non-premium download links but by god the rest of the forum depends entirely on downloaders having paid premium accounts for the filehost.
