Just need to express something.

I love these forums. I love the years worth of music that exists here. And yet, it is frequently disrupted by entitled brats who complain about everything.

I'll never forget when the Man of Steel Complete Score was leaked. One of the first replies was "No FLAC?" or something like that. Like really, dude? It's a SUPER RARE score which will never see the light of day and you complain about the format it's in? Like, I get it. MP3 sucks. It's super lossy. But that's all we've ever had and all we ever will have, as far as I'm concerned.

Just... be nice. Be considerate.

You can with the right material, heqadphones and training. At least I can differentiate between lossy and lossless, given the correct mastering, headphone selection, playback volme and about 10 minutes worth of comparison in a blind test...

But 44,1 versus 192, no, there really is no way to hear a difference unless the mastering is inconsistent.

not everyone has a 2000 dollar headset or equipment.
while my 3 dollar (because thats what i bought them for in a flea market) custom made headphones are the best headphones in the world in terms of audio quality, comfortness and volume, i still dont hear the difference.
besides, i have to convert flac files to mp3 because nothing i have aside from the pc can play flac files. and while im driving around, "lossyness" is the last thing i care about

Look, my format of preference is FLAC, I really like it, BUT, if there's a score I REALLY love and wanted for a long time, if someone uploads Alpha and Omega or Dragonheart complete, even though I'd like them in FLAC, I'd say thanks from the bottom of my heart (as I always honestly do) and keep the MP3 with no problem. Why? First, it was FREE (something we all should remember) and second, it was an act of kindness like half of the most important shares here. If someone dares to upload my favourite score, I don't give a damn about the format, I'm grateful to finally be able to hear it complete, be it MP3, FLAC, or damned AAC. It's not that hard to get.

True, I agree with you, but for me, I am super OCD and only listen to lossless audio. I keep no mp3s. The headphones I use currently are Sennheiser HD280 Pro, only about $150. Their strength is that they feature a flat frequency response. So there is no equalization trickery, just 99% reproduction of audio. It also helps to know what to listen for when comparing, but that's a story for another day..

I use AKG.. don't remember the number at the moment, but they were 80 dollars to me (off from 120+).. they work fine to me. The only down thing is that the earbuds have completely gone off, like.. they're completely scratched and all, alone, with sweat and stuff over the year since I bought it. And the material is used is being kind of oxidated? But not actually oxident.

Point being. They sound fine to me.

Of Course Not, Look I Have Nothing Against People Who Prefer Flac At All. What Does Annoy Me Is When Something Is Shared In MP3 And People Complain.. If You Do Not Like It Then Just Ignore And Leave The Thread (And I Am Not Saying That Anyone Here Has Done As So)

I Prefer MP3 As It Is Smaller In Size And Plays On My Mobile Device.

I Will Request FLAC And Convert To MP3 My Self, Sometimes It Is Easier to Do So.

That Is All.

Oh, you have no idea how bad things have been around here, for some time:

- Your drive doesn't have the correct offset.

- Not ripped with Exact Audio Copy. Crap.

- No .cue/.log

- Your drive doesn't defeat audio cache.

- Gaps weren't detected.

- Why a range/image rip?

- And then we even got the goddamn opposite complaint: Separated tracks? Who still bothers with those?

Lossless folks are the downfall of file-sharing.

I only ever grab Lossless although i never listen to it
I just like to encode the Mp3s myself, so i know it's done correctly.

Flac for me is more of an archiving Format.

Just good to know something was ripped correctly, an accurate .log & .cue file
is nice so you know you archive the real deal, no fake encodes or upconverts.

But i would never ever slap someone in the Face, who devoted Time
to share something for free. I don't really get the mindset of People that do.

Personally, I'm just glad most of the more "aggravating" users have either left and set up their own sharing-haven, or changed the way they behave. The first iteration of the lossless video game soundtracks thread had some of the worst examples of that crap.

Sadly, though, I no longer care about contributing my own rips mostly because of that stuff. I don't entirely dislike lossless collectors, but I sure as hell wouldn't miss them, in case they "up and go", either.

I'm mainly sharing it because one friend personally asked for them, thinking my rips with EAC would be more trustworthy than any other torrent FLAC rip. I was already ripping the CDs for my own HDD, and uploading the discs for himself, so why not make use of the links and share it with anyone else. I'll see if I can work on it tonight. I personally wish I could scan the digipacks and offer the most complete thing ever. But the digipacks are very fragile and so is the box, so I may just offer pictures of the box. :P

There isn't any fair enough. What most idiots fail to remember, is that the uploader is the one "holding the knife". I've been on quite a few boards where a simple complaint about quality/format would have gotten you "permanently" banned. The user provided that, didn't you happen to be happy with it? Sucks to be you, keep your mouth shut and take matters into your hands, that's all you had to do and, to speak the truth, it would also be the smart/mature thing to do, the uploader doesn't have to cater to anyone's wish(es).
