Ok i always thought Final Fantasy games were as much movies as games..i have to say i would love for som1 to make Movies after the games...as long as they follow the games story lines...and this is off topic but i think some1 should make Metal Gear Solid movies too...post back what u think, about if they should make Final Fantasy movies based on the games

yes! they should make the ff series a movie *the spirits within, sucked!* use the actual story lines and stuff. its cool how they are making advent children.

They should make them into movies espcially 7&8 but make them real action instead of CGI

yea it pretty much sucked...i sure as hell hope som1 takes the risk and makes some real Final Fantasy movies soon...based on games, they would prolly make some killer cash if they would just make a movie for each game...i mean hell look Harry Potter is doin it with books and that asshole is sleepin on a bed of gold, plus i havent really seen any movies based on games that didnt make some good cash...u agree?

You know, I just have to laugh every time I hear kids griping about how much FF:TSW sucked. You say it wasn't Final Fantasy? Then what is? Do swords and magic make Final Fantasy? Do the same old carbon-copied characters make Final Fantasy?

Or maybe - just maybe - Final Fantasy should be defined by its dominant themes and storytelling, which the movie did an excellent job of conveying.

can you situate FFVIII in the present or in the past? or will you say the game also sucked because it diverted itself from the traditionl FFs?

Just the Ragnarok and the space station were enough to make it as futuristic as the movie and away from the traditional FFs. Spirits Within did what the games do, except for X-2.
it created a basic new (always with those common elements) storyline and i quite enjoyed the film.

I wouldn't say that TSW wasn't FF, but i think it lacked a spark that can be seen in most of the games, It's like FF8, although it's not my favourite, it is still FF ( monsters, sword and sorcery, etc..)

As for turning the games into films, no offence, but what would be the point, everyone who has played the games will know all the plot twists and how it ends, it may pose some interest to those who haven't played the game, but this is unlikely...

Don't get me wrong though, if they did turn the games into films I would go and see them :-D

Actually the swords and stuff was to do with FF8 not TSW....

I cant tell you what the film was missing, it was just the X-factor, the thing that makes a game or a car your favourite, its not something you see or hear it's something you feel....

well no matter how much you want it, a game will never be a movie in the true sense. i loved the film and hearing or reading people say it's not FF it's an insult

well to each his own, but personally i think the movie sucked, and if they would make some movies based on the games i think they would be a success...but thats just my opinion

X was a great game, didn't deserve a sequel, but no FF deserves a sequel.

But part of the things that make Final Fantasy what it is is the magics the swords the summons the mythical aspect of it and yes i know not all the ffs had summons but they did have all the rest and The Spirits Within had none of these. im not saying tis a bad movie im just saying its not a final fantasy i think Squaresoft just slapped Final Fantasy on there so it would sell its more of a great Sci-Fi movie than a final fantasy.

And DONT say all final fantasies are scifi cuz theyre not they are fantasy and there is a distinct difference between those two. fantasy has magic and demons and mythical creatures and such while sci fi is just science and technology cuz remember fantasy can take place in space and the future too it doesnt have to be in the middle ages.

TSW was a great movie, I loved the ending...it looked awesome too...ummm. people should stop dissing on it so much...

Making movies based on games is a bad idea. Not many of them, if any, work out. But that's just my opinion of course.

FF:TSW was alright, but it reminded me too much of the movie Aliens. Hell, they even had the same music composer, Eliot Goldenthal. While his style of music I enjoy, he is not Nobuo Uematsu.

I admit, I have had my own thoughts about why doesn't Square make the FF games into movies, but then I kick myself and banish that thought from my head. Even now Hollywood can't come up with fresh ideas for movies, instead they take old TV series, or old movies and remake them. To me, movies like that, are never as good as the one they were based on.

Still... I admit there should be more Fantasy based movies, but having more Final Fantasy movies? Thanks, but no thanks.

Definitely watch it, and when you do, think of it as a regular cgi movie, otherwise you might be a little disapointed.

It's fine as a Final Fantasy movie. It retains the dominant themes of the series quite nicely, so the only way you could be disappointed is if you think FF is all about swords and magic, which it isn't.

I think 8 would make a great movie and I would love too make the rest into movies but I would be affarid theyed stuff it
