So, SE is finally releasing VI on Steam for sales.

Not much if they're going to make a cartoon remake for 5 y.o. children.
I don't remember this one so well but enjoyed it a lot.
Yeah I don't like how it looks, either. But hey, it's a step forward. Not sure why they just don't release every FF game from I-IX on Steam. Seems like it would be a no-brainer.

on the site forest of doors the guy goes onto how to make a good had remake and about programs. He goes into details about waifu2x for up scaling characters and they actually look better than the cheap job enix did.If they aren't going to at Least put effort, then don't bother. Why can't they put in the same treatment as the psp version of ff4? This is a Classic game beloved by many ff fans, and it kills me and others to see them treat the fanbase with such disrespect.
That would be like if I were to take ff7 and say:Ok I'm going to remake it on iPhone and with Shoddy graphics and have characters still with pixelated polygon arms like on ps1 but worse looking.Of course they would never do that to their star game that is best selling, but I suppose they have class games like first class gets remakes and sequels second gets decent remakes and third is just thrown away and forgotten.Well up yours enix, I want someone to buy you out and give me a decent 3D remake instead of this cartoony joke.
Okay I looked at it again and it is definitely off-putting. The overly cartoony look of everything looks like they're trying to play up the chibi aesthetic here. Not gonna lie, judging by the screenshots, I'd rather play FF6 on an emulator than this version.
Edit: Also, this:
:seriously:

:eye: Did it really ask for age???
Wth.
I haven't really looked at it since it's announcement.
It better be remade with blood, boobs and everyone with a cigarette in their mouth for the whole game.

maybe because the cancer that is SJW and PC made a fuzz about that scene where a certain female character is punched on screen.
this is the same cancer that forced capcom to remove mika's buttslap.
the same cancer that forced sony to not release DOAX3 on the west.
Yes it did really ask me for my age. Apparently it's rated T, for Mild Fantasy Violence and Partial Nudity.
It better be remade with blood, boobs and everyone with a cigarette in their mouth for the whole game.
Lol! Would buy that in a heartbeat.

Imagine this moment!
Kefka killing General Leo, putting his sword thru Leo's back while Leo is down. It would look amazing with blood and some details.

Apparently the Steam game has the GBA rom in it.
There's a lot to read just to get to the most pertinent point in the article:
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-secret-that-makes-final-fantasy-vi-pc-perfect-for-modding
a pristine copy of the Game Boy Advance ROM buried in its source code
Which makes modders happy and bite on the tip of a pen while being interviewed.
That's what I imagine happened.

Sweet! I had no idea! I'll need to buy that ASAP! And, you know... Lie about my age.
Why did I only just find this out?

I don't understand why the store pages of the re-releases of the classic Final Fantasy games like III-VI have to ask you for your age. It seems pointless because 1) The games are not rated M (They're either E10+ or T) and 2) There's nothing stopping someone from lying by entering a date from over 17 years ago (I'm guessing the required age to proceed to the game's store page is at least 17, which is the minimum age for an M-rated game). So what's the point of putting those age screens if the game in question is not even rated M?
It's interesting. Some games rated M or T don't require age verification, while others do. Just from a quick browse on their store page, Alien: Isolation (
http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/214490/) (rated M) does require it, but Alekhine's Gun (
http://store.steampowered.com/app/406720/) (rated M) doesn't. Final Fantasy VI (
http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/382900/) (rated T) requires it but WWE 2K16 (
http://store.steampowered.com/app/385730/) (rated T) doesn't. So I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the companies themselves pushing for the age check. I really have no idea.
