Warner Bros Stars & Radio City Music Hall Christmas Cast Recordings (2011 Vinyl Restorations MP3 256 kbps)
Warner Bros Stars "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" came out in 1959, and features the stars from then-current TV shows
produced by Warner Brothers, including Dorothy Provine. It was transferred (unfortunately not by me) from a fairly decent Stereo LP onto reel tape
which I have then cleaned up further using Sony's DSD process. WB stereo pressings from this period often suffered from crackling new right out of
the sleeve and the large amounts of reverberation used also caused some sibilance issues. These have been minimised as much as possible.
A year earlier one of the first RCA "Living Stereo" releases was a cast recording from that year's Radio City Musical Hall Christmas Show.
Curiously the only non Christmas song incorporated into the score is then new "Chances Are". This LP was in very good condition for a 50+ year old LP
and the glorious analog early stereo is a wonder to hear even today.
Both of these recordings have been out of print for nearly 50 years and to my knowledge have never been released on CD.
Happy listening and Happy Holidays to all.
