The Hunger Games: Catching Fire "Chariot Ceremony" (Custom Film Version Edit)
Composer: James Newton Howard
Format: ALAC
Bitrate: 320kbps
Tracks: 1
Duration: 2:26 mins.
Notes:
Was buzzing around the board on the lookout for other Howard sessions and came across a request in one particular thread for the film version of the "Chariot Ceremony" from Catching Fire which, to the regret of some, was limited to the percussion overlay only. For those not in the know, the "Chariot Ceremony" heard in the film employs a battery of kettle drums during the second refrain of the anthem.
Given its absence amongst the sessions tracks, presumably Howard only recorded the overlay with the intent of simply reusing the recording of the "Chariot Ceremony" from the first film; he would then add a short intro and edit the length of the soloist's crescendo between the first and second refrains.

Thanks for this!
I did an almost identical work on it, basing both on this instructions (
http://chrono-score.blogspot.it/2015/05/hunger-games-ii-catching-fire.html) and the movie itself, but I still have troubles to fit the trums in the exact place.
I think you forgot to edit the ending of the Chariot Cerimony, it is shortened: you can see it both in the movie and in the second section of the drum cue. You can edit following those instructions I mentioned above.
Thanks for your work, indeed! :D

Ahh, but then that's why I preface my work with modifiers like "custom edit" or "custom edition". I make no pretences that what I present are exact facsimiles. For one, I don't hold a film edit to be sacrosanct if it compromises the integrity of the music, and two, in the case of the "Chariot Ceremony", I saw no benefit in hacking away at the meat of the anthem just because the music editor had to squeeze the original composition scored for the first film into a similar but shorter sequence in the second.
I mean, what would be the point if contributes no actual benefit to the work, but might actually detract? Besides, whose intentions are more important here: the composer's or the film's music editor?
Addendum: could you imagine La La Land chopping up Goldsmith's "Klingon Battle" from ST:TMP to reflect the Director's Edition cut, and then presenting that version on their release instead of the original? A riot would ensue.

All right then ;) I'm ok with that.
Mine was only a specification: this thread's name is "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire "Chariot Ceremony" (Custom Film Version Edit)" could be misleading for those who are searching/waiting a film edit of the score :D
In any case, I appreciate your effort. Thanks again gururu!

the theme is used twice in the movie
after "war" and after "introducing the tributes" in two different cuts.... this one is the 1st or the 2nd version ?

This is similar to the 2nd version. I tryed to work on this following the same instructions you've found, but this one uploaded here isn't meant to be the movie version mix. Read post #9.
