Now I'm not really into classical music, but wasn't the music from the Via Purifico just MAGNIFICENT! When Yuna was walking around, I just paused the game and listened to that piano music for an hour, it was so well done, don't you agree. Ans the music when Tidus and Wakka were swimming to besiad village, that was so calming! What music do all you peoples like?

I love the FF-X music. The songs are very relaxing, that's true. And I think this music is very timeless. You can hear it all the time without getting tired of it. :)

omg, i love the via purifico! its the best song in ffx! u can ask ne of my freinds, ne time i hear just the first note, i scream "VIA PURIFICO!!!!!" and im glued to the tv after that. i like all nobuo's music, i love how its classical. x-2 music wasn't too hott. i don't even tink nobuo made the music for it. i don't like the whole square-enix thing. x-2.......wasn't so great. i mean it was awesome. but.....it didn't feel like a final fantasy.
i also like besaid.......*its a lil personal if u don't mind* but me and my brother had just first gotten ffx, and then my nana lived with me. and every time i listen to besaid, it reminds me of my nana, cuz she died, while we were in besaid..

The music fitted well with the scene but I personely could sit down and watch "Zanarkand" for hours I just love otherworld. Also I believe that the Hymn of the Fayth was beautifully done and that it fitted wonderfuly with the scene of the temples (listening to it now in fact) FFX has some of the best scene fitting music in any game I have ever played

i liked all of music in final fantasy 10. esp. tidus's theme
i like the part in the begining when they use tidus's theme when the anouncer says "i was in a coffee shop when i heard our hero jecht disapeared out of thin air"etc
it also sounded good when they used it on the ship to luca when tidus attempts the jecht shot
via purfico sounded cool and it fitted the occasion very well. i like the way it started saying something like "lady yuna where are you". i dont remember if that was exacly it.

I LOVE Via Purifico! I haven't played the game yet but I have the piano collections and *siiiiggghhhhhhh* I am in love! <3 I just printed out the piano sheet for Via Purifico.. seems like it goes by a lot of names? Via Purifico, Path of Repentance, the Way of Purgation.. but I'm guessing those two are just translations of Via Purifico? I'm listening to the song right now!! xD

FF8 has the most mp3s that I liked, but staying on topic.. FFX is my second favorite soundtrack of the series.
Listening to the via purifico song again, it's a nice song, but not one of my favorite from the game's sound track. Here are my favorites from FFX's soundtrack in no particular order:
Otherworld, Sprouting, Silence before the storm, Attack, Thunder Plateau, Blitz Ball Gamblers, Suteki da ne, People of the North pole, Someday the dream will end, and To zanarkand.
Uematsu had a heavy hand in many of these, but a few of the ones I liked were done by the other contributors to the soundtrack.

Yes, I LOVED the Via Purifico music, and I admit I did the same as you (pausing the game to hear the music...) ...multiple times. :P
I also really loved the Mt. Gagazet background music; I believe it's called "People of the North Pole" (or 'Servants of the Mountain,' depending on whether you have the Japanese or U.S. release...)
I liked Auron's Theme as well, and "Daughter of the High Summoner"; not Yuna's theme, but music that plays alot when she speaks, and alot of others. I used to be addicted to "Otherworld," too.

that music is ''contemporary classical'', ''or modern classical''. it has a different sound than beethoven/bach's era.
so yeah, that's probably why you were surprised lol :)
i just call it classical though. it's only the critics and music snobs that insist otherwise. o_O
the man who composed those songs is Nobuo Uematsu. And he does make very beautiful music. He says he strives to make his music sound as beuatiful as he can, so that the player doesn't get bored with it (think ff12).
There are two versions of Via Purifico. The in-game version, and the piano collections CD version.
