Just checked the scans, wow, they're of great quality. The size is a bother but the quality is worth it, kinda, the booklet is wonderful and informative, thank you very much KevinG!

Since the scan is at a high DPI (Dots Per Inch; higher gives more "resolution/detail" per inch), you can still recompress these to JPG again to make them smaller.
You can even resize if they're too big.
Sure there will be some loss, but for pictures, just save as a new file and do that several times with different settings and compare them all.
You'll eventually find the right settings for small files you want.
Don't compare first recopression and the original. The difference will always be obvious. Do 3 and compare all 4.
Just remember the settings, or add the settings to the filename.

I use XnView (http://www.xnview.com/en/) for recompressing for cover albums.

If you're not going to read these any time soon, why not zip them with highest compresion?
That will save you bundles of space, too.
No loss or recompression, just archived.

The booklet for Intrada INT 7145 is an interesting read. It seems the archived 1/2" magnetic tapes required the latest spectral analysis techniques and EQ for a quality restoration similar to Spectre8750's work on the Decca version from 2000. Also, the 3-track split mono elements could not be easily folded into a stereo format. Apparently it was necessary for this release to move the basses / viola section to the middle of the mix to create an acceptable stereo field with "the shark" as pseudo vocalist.
