BARNABY JONES Jerry Goldsmith NEW IMPROVED PRESENTATION [FLAC & 320]

Since I first posted this thread in 2013, La La Land Records released THE QUINN MARTIN COLLECTION (Volume 1)
which includes the pilot score for Barnaby Jones in much better sound than the bootleg.

I’d be surprised if any of the forum’s Goldsmith fans don’t already have this, and my version probably isn’t any different acoustically – but, as far as I can tell, all other versions of this score have the tracks in random order, and the cues are completely unidentified.

I bought this on CD-R from an online source, way back in 2000. Shortly after that a friend gave me a copy of the actual episode to watch, which allowed me to identify all the tracks and arrange them in chronological order. I blended a few of the shorter cues into the beginning or end of adjoining tracks.

More recently, I felt that the chronological presentation was a bit disjointed to listen to, so I created a second version that didn’t adhere to film order and which blended the tracks together even more for a smoother listening experience. Both of my “presentations” are included here.

Sound quality has not been upgraded – it still sounds rough here and there. It would be nice to get an official version someday. I never tire of Goldsmith’s groovy 1970s sound 🙂

Have you listened to it yet? And I think knowing what the tracks are called is actually a lot better than "Track 1", "Track 2", "Track 3" etc… but that’s just me.
