I did not get this anywhere in the ffshrine, just to be clear. I did some "soul seeking" these days (get the hint? ;)), and I easily got it with no problems at all.

Now, about this release. The sound is vastly improved over the 1989 VS release. Just compare track 13 from this release ("Dead Recollection" cue, to be specific) and compare with your 1989 counterpart! Very creepy music!

One thing I didn't think it was fare is how the sound quality of the 1989 release is reproduced in this release! I have the 1989 CD itself, and it doesn't sound as bad as it sounds here. The newly remastered tracks are much better in any case, of course, but the 1989 tracks sounds worse here than they sound on the original CD. Go figure...

Great to have this one again on the shelves... kind of a special treat for Goldenthal enthousiasts since the sound here is so much different than his later works. If Herrmann was trying to scare us with the violins on psycho, Goldenthal pushed the boundary even more here (it wouldn't surprise me some violins actually caught fire due to overheating during recording ). A very effective score, what a talent this guy has. He really should come back, enough gaps to fill lately.
