I'm asking the help of EVERYBODY.
I restarted a new game lately and I wanted to know if someone here has succed to see the extra ending? because I know That I have to have a certain weapon (I don't recall the name) in my inventory for the end of the game. but that weapon appears to be Beatrix's and I cannot remove her sword since I have no other to give her, so she must keep it. HOW CAN WE REMOVE IT???
thanks in advance for your respond,

wel the ending: *******SPOILERS******

The ending requires that you have the hammer item in your inventory. I never knew that it was a weapon for Beatrix though.....

SPOILER ALERT

Actually, the Hammer is Cinna's weapon; you're thinking of Save the Queen which is Beatrix's unique sword (which you can have Hades synth, but can't equip it to anyone and is pretty much a piece of useless junk serving only to clog up your inventory.).

As for the 'extra' ending, all it does is add an extra scene to the play at the end: (SPOILERS AHEAD)....

Basically, the scene in question occurs after the part where Blank's character knocks Princess Cornelia unconscious. It then switches to King Leo fretting about Princess Cornelia. Blank appears, only for Leo to see through Blank's ruse and 'executes' him with a sword (NOT with the Hammer as some FAQs are claiming), and then orders the Nero brothers to search for Cornelia. The scene then changes to the normal scene of Marcus on the dock waiting for Cornelia.

This only occurs if you have the Hammer in your inventory at the end of the game (which is gained by finding all 13 Stellazzios - contrary to popular belief Save the Queen does absolutely nothing to the ending). If you haven't got the Hammer in your inventory at that point in the game, the scene just jumps straight to Marcus on the dock after the scene with Blank and Cornelia. Pointless, but still interesting if you were wondering what happened to Cornelia in the story of the play.

One thing is sure...to get the extra ending you need the hammer. ;)

I had it the last time I played, but I don't know about the extra scene. It is terrible but it looked like the other ending to me. The extra scene must be very short though. :(

so, what you all say is that I have to remove cinna's hammer in order to have it. but with what can i replace it though? and you also say that save the queen does nothing for the extra ending, well it's not what they say on internet... And another thing, I managed to have all the """stelazios""" (dunno how to write) in my last game and nothing happened :( .

You'll get the hammer for all the stellatias. If you didn't get it, you didn't find all of them. There is no other way to get the hammer. You can't just replace it. ;)

The extra ending isn't really that big of a deal, it's pretty much the same. I only do it, so I can know that I completed everything in the game. ;)

Well, I did both ways before.....but like I said, I didn't even recognize a difference. :(

Do you mean you found and kept the standard 12 or that you gave them all to the lady/duck thing in Treno? because if you give her the 12 you are then sent on a quest for the 13th coin, then you get the Hammer.

Each Stellazzio you find you should give to Queen Stella ASAP, as she reward you for each individual Stellazzio you find, and some of the rewards are more worthwhile the earlier in the game you get them (like the Blood Sword for Steiner). Once you've given all 12 to Queen Stella, she'll hint at the existence of a final, 13th one, then will give you back the 12 in order to find the secret one, as it's location is hinted at by clues in the description of each Stellazzio by highlighting each one in the Key Items screen and pressing Start to view it's description.

In reality, the 13th Stellazzio is found in the same place as you found the Scorpio Stellazzio, in Quan's Dwelling. Take them back to Queen Stella and she'll give you Cinna's Hammer as the reward for finding all of them. Although you can use the Hammer to have Hades synth certain powerful items (Tin Armour for Steiner or Freya, or a Pumice Piece, providing you already have a Pumice), if you leave it untouched in your inventory when you finish the game, it will add the extra scene I already mentioned in the play at the end.

Yes you get Cinna's hammer, I think you got it by getting all the Stelazzio coins don't hold me to that though because I'm not sure I can't quite remember.

I revoke my last message since you already know that stuff, apologies.

Heh no problem :)

the difference between the long and short ending is so small that it's a case of blink and you'll miss it!

Yes, but what is the extra scene? One with Steiner and Beatrix maybe? Or another one with Zidane?

Like I said, I got it but I can't tell..... :(

Thats what I mean, I've now completed FF-IX 4 times ( just fighting Necron from a save point) twice i've had the hammer and twice I've refined it into Tin armour, but i still cant really tell a difference between the two endings :(

It's a pointless little addition which some obsessive people such as myself like to get just to say they got it really. Anyone agree?
