Did someone ever get all the cards you can get? And if so, what happens when you have collected all of them? Do you get a special price for it? Or do you get a special price if you are on the highest card player rank?

Who knows more about it?

Oh, don't worry about that. I just want to know if it's worth getting all of them and also if it's worth on aming on the highest rank. I mean, it is a lot of work if you try to get all of them..... ;)

I dont know???? I think it all depends if your the kind of person who likes to get everything in the game.

Usually I am, but not in everything. I liked the card game in FF-VIII, but I don't like it that much in FF-IX. I'm just trying to do all the sidequests now, and when it came to the card game, I was asking myself for the purpose of it.....

Sephiroths Bride
12-30-2004, 11:53 PM
I dont think there is a purpose. Because FF8 card game was so cool, they just wanted to do another one. But FF9 cg was not as good.
Did you get all the Cards in FF8?

No, I didn't get all the cards in FF-VIII, either. But I had almost all of them. The game was fun, and there was a purpose for it.

The card game in FF-IX is not that much fun in my opinion. I don't mind in having another one, but if there is no reson for getting all of them.... :(

I got all the cards in Final Fantasy IX. It's boring. You don't get anything special. And to really raise your rank, you don't just need all the cards, you need each card to have a different arrow configuration and also raise their stats.

I agree with Agent0042 it's a waste of time and boring. I managed to make my rank go up a whole load of times and got nothing. Pointless. Although I never found out alleyway Jacks real name which ticked me off can anyone tell where he is that i can find out.

You don't get anything for all the hard work? Hmm, that's disappoining ... :(

Tetra Master is simply a diversion from the main game, unlike FFVIII's Triple Triad where the cards can be morphed into items. The only real reward for gaining all the cards is that it contributes to your 'Treasure Hunter Rank'.

Incidentally, I only lack two cards out of the full 100 - Ozma and Madeen. I haven't played FFIX much lately though (for instance I haven't defeated Ozma yet as you can no doubt tell...), so I haven't gotten around to finding those two remaining cards.

I enjoyed Tetra Master a lot more than I did Triple Triad though, as there was no annoying 'Random' rule on what cards you could use. Plus, as it was more of a game of chance compared to simply using strategy, it made it a lot more challenging than Triple Triad (I noticed a lot of people who say they hated the chance factor in Tetra Master were people who used specific card strategies in Triple Triad, which they could no longer use to guarantee victory in Tetra Master.)

Besides, it must have been popular enough for Square Enix to include it as an online game with FFXI....

I tried several times to get all of the cards, after a while I couldn't be asked.
FFIX is too easy to finish anyway o_O

Alleyway Jack is actually Gilgamesh. He's that dude that shows up again in Daguerro babbling about your treasure hunter rank and if you get up to Class S, he tells you his name. If you challenge him to card game, he has several airship / vehicle cards.

I did find that guy in daguerro and I won alot of good cards from him he had a habit of winning them back again though. I don't think I spoke to him after I reached rank S, so I guess that's why I didn't find out.

Nope, I only got good cards for the challenge which you HAD to do, I didn't actually go searching for them, because there was no reward....really.

Aerith Gainsborough
01-20-2005, 05:39 PM
I got 90 some different cards now, but I'm not searching for more because I got too many cards that look the same. And you only get points if they don't look the same. I messed that up earlier on in the game because I didn't know about it. So, I'm not trying to get the rest of the cards or the highest rank. ;)

Yes, I got all the cards for both games.

Tetra Master served no purpose other than to raise your rank to S, but you can do this without having to play a single card game, just collect all the treauses around the world, mostly from the chocobo sidequest. Its not worth the time trying to get them all. They serve no purpose.

Triple Traid was another matter, it was a lot more fun and was very basic. Collecting the cards is not as hard as in FF9 but the cards are at least worth something when you get them, refine your unique cards for great items.

A long time ago, about 2 years I found this game called Questria, it happened to be an online version of FF8 and FF9's card games, where you could play a lot of different people with all the different rules. It was crazy fun and addictive because they added thousands of other cards too. I dont know if it exists anymore but anyone who liked the cg's for FF would love this.

It isnt always the arrows, depends on the cards physical and magic power/level.

I'm still far off i think, I didn't play cards to much, but i think i got to around 60 different types of cards. Oh and I also liked 8's card game better.
