Yes, this is because the website has recently been hacked. I know absolutely nothing apart from that.

The search function for this site - or pretty much any web forum - is pretty useless anyway.

Just Google:

site:forums.ffshrine.org insert search terms here

You can throw in usernames to narrow down results.
Moslty will get back threads.
Would be pretty impossible to narrow down to posts.

I can easily find my threads.

site:forums.ffshrine.org end credits sparktank

But, you're also contributing much more to Big Brother this way. ;)

At least Big Brother gets the job done. I've never found this site's search function useful...

I would "Like" your suggestion - but that function is also missing.

Thanks anyway!

I just tried a basic "site" search on Google and it worked like a charm.

Hello.
When I try to search any word in normal search or advanced search, appears this message:

I don't know if it's a problem with my internet conection or a real problem with the server database, but I put this notification to inform you.
Greetings.

You can easily search the site using Google.
Use the following syntax..

"(search term) site:forums.ffshrine.org"

Sans quotes & Parathensis.

For about the last 2 weeks, I have been getting a database error message every time I do a search. Does not matter what I search for, I get the message and nothing else appears from my search. Is anyone else getting this too? If so, have you been able to fix it? Have you?

Thanks!

Michael

People seriously you have to enter this section to start thread.... read the others its all explained... no need for all these threads.

Azetlor

Yes, this has been answered a thousand times before.

Please do read a little before you start another thread.
Instead of searching here, type the following into Google:

site:forums.ffshrine.org "What you want to search for"

It's better than the search function ever was here anyway.

As Darth Raven and Tangotreats have previously suggested elsewhere, can we please have a thread sticky'd answering all these FAQs?

What are the chances they're going to read a "Sticky" thread? They don't even bother to scroll down a tiny bit, I mean, there's a goddamn thread titled Search Error, yet, someone felt like this one had to be created, too.

Eh, I guess. Just hoping for even a small cut-down of all these duplicates.

I don't think you'd get it, in all honesty. Take a look at the amount of: "I want to delete my account" threads, they're still there, despite: 1) The notice mentioning they can't be deleted which is located at the top of the forum's Index [you see it if you aren't logged into your account, theoretically, you shouldn't miss it]; 2) Join Date of such users indicating they've registered AFTER the notice got added to the Index.

It pains me to say this, but apparently a decent-sized portion of users don't read (and they never will).

Can't vouch for everyone else, but I tend to ignore this forum and only glance at the "Last Post" section on my way to the lossless thread. If the title reads as something important I check it out, otherwise I ignore. Usually works fine, except Sarah locked the sticky about the security issue, so I entirely missed that thread till people started mentioning it.

Not complaining by the way, any fault with this is entirely my own, but maybe others do something similar? Or skip over the stickies themselves? I'm so used to skipping past the stickies in the downloads section that I never notice them in other forums either ._. kind of a bad habit

Hey cut the site some slack everyone. How much great music have we gotten off it? A slight inconvenience and everyone gets all pissy. Yeah, I am upset too, but it is not the end of the world. It will be fixed (I hope!) As for the search not working, that is a load of crap. It is not perfect, but it still finds what you need. If you cannot, it''s probably not available on here.
