This is part one of my plan to rip the music from all the Jazz Jackrabbit series. If your wondering where all the Christmas music is, it's coming -- I just wanted to wait until after I ripped Jazz 2, so that I could put the music from all the Holiday Hares in one download. If all goes well, I'll have it out before Christmas.

WOW, these sound awesome! I've heard this game ripped plenty of times and none have ever sounded this good. They've usually always been conversions of the sound files. I just read your Technical Info in the readme for the FLAC files and reading the process you went through to get these in such awesome quality is amazing. I even have the Jazz 1&2 album that was put out a few years ago by 'Game Music Bundle' and this is up there with that. This just completes the sound files for the game! Thanks a million for sharing! Looking forward to Part 2!

After some thorough testing and comparing to the S3M/IT version and also the other .flac rips on ffshrine, I've got to admit, I think it's the best sounding rip out there! :)
People who are nostalgic of the old .s3m sound might regret that the extreme panning effect is gone, but I really prefer this version!
I can't wait for Jazz Jackrabbit 2! :)

And btw, like somebody mentioned, I had the bundle of Jazz Jackrabbit 1 + 2 too, in .flac format.
It was good for the trash, the music was compressed to the maximum... (LOUDNESS WAR syndrome strikes again!) (>_<)
You managed to preserve the dynamics of the original tracks, that's infinitely better.

Brings me back to the 90s! yay! :)

Interestingly, this game doesn't seem to have the extreme panning that other tracker music does. Looking at the files in epictest, the channels are always panned to +-63 (the maximum is 127). Besides that, the channels are often set to MIDDLE or SURROUND mode, making the panning meaningless. I guess someone at Epic must have been a headphone user.

Thanks! Both Jazz Jackrabbit games are available on GOG now (as of yesterday). I bought them today, and they're fantastic! The soundtrack is downright amazing. :)
