A few words
YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS! Finally new Halo music.
Fresh off of a xbone Beta update leak. This is what you’ll listen to while navigating through the main menu of Halo 5.
Confirmed by Microsoft as very real and the leak being "unfortunate". HAH!
The Stereo FLAC version (lossless rip) – FLAC, 2 channels, lossless
The Stereo Apple Lossless version (lossless) – ALAC (in the ‘m4a’ container), 2 channels, lossless
The Stereo MP3 version (lossy) – MP3, 2 channels, V0, 44.1KHz
The process – Losslessly ripped (from lossy source) , tagged and then made a duplicate. Listening to the original, converted the duplicate into common consumption formats (without any alterations to the audio). Something screwed up the conversion. Restarted the process. Checked conversion integrity. Rushed a couple of covers. Uploaded.
Bonus: First cover’s colored alternate cut

I think I only listened through the Halo 4 score a couple times (I only played up to Reach).
From this suite, how do you think it compares?
I love the first four minutes, the strings and piano piece sound so nice.
I particularly like the choir work around the 8:00 minute mark as well.
It’s too bad about the compression artifacts though. I thought they’d have the game’s score at a greater bitrate.
But still retaining frequencies up to 22kHz…
Can’t wait to hear a perfect version when the soundtrack comes out.
Thank you very much for this early release <3
Love Halo 4, hope this is at least as good!
The FLAC and ALAC are not lossless. Highly compressed from what I can hear.
But still retaining frequencies up to 22kHz…
I extracted as much as I could from the compressed source and provided in lossless instead of transcoding only to preserve it instead of destroying the signal further. I, too, wish I could’ve gotten this in a better format or improved it sonically but I left that up to the downloader.
The moment I hear a whisper of a better version out there you better believe I’ll pounce 🙂
