Alright, I heard from a friend of mine, that, when Yuna is alone somewhere in Chapter 3...you have to press X like 4 times or something. And then you hear whistles.

My question is, HOW THE HELL WOULD ANYBODY FIGURE THAT OUT? Is Squeenix forcing us to look at Strategy guides? Come on...who would've stumbled on that? Seriously.

Yeah, I would have had no idea to do this unless I read an FAQ about it. I went through the whole game w/o using an extremely thorough FAQ and I got 90% done, and I had no idea that we were supposed to press X at that part 4 times in order to get a Good/Perfect Ending!

100% agree on that one, really don't see how anyone's going to figure that one out on their own unless they have a tendency of tapping on the X key by habit or something. I think Yuna's yelling "I'm alll alone!" is supposed to be some sort of hint or something, but yeah, no way. But then again, there are quite a few things in Final Fantasy games that nobody could ever figure out without having a strategy guide or reading about it online.

Agent0042

Yuna just sort of ends up back in the Bevelle Underground, but there's no whistling and no appearance of "him" to lead Yuna out of the Farplane Abyss.

so if i didnt press x the shadow thingy of "him" wont come out and yuna wouldnt be chasing the shadow thingy right? heheh.. thanks =D

Think about it though. X is the action button. Someone could have been pressing it like mad saying, "I want outta here!" and then "he" pops up.

Yeah, when you put it that way, it does rather make sense. I guess I'm too used to long fades / waits on Final Fantasy games to be inclined to do that.

if u played ffx it was sorta obvious about the pressing X thing cos tidus says "if your ever alone whistle and i will come"

I had the guide, but I would have figured it out anyway, Ive learned from experience that the makers of FF NEVER make a meaningless scene/location. There is always something for you to do in every place, be it finding an item, triggering a side event, or just getting a tip or funny story from a local. And yea, I do have a habit of goin around hitting X everywhere.

Yeah but how would you work out that you were supposed to do that at one specific point in the game? I certainly wouldn't have known if I'd been told.

I remember when I bought the game the guy in the shop asked me if I wanted the strategy guide with it for half price, and he said that he really thinks I should get it. I didn't take it, but I can see why it would have been important to get, some of the things in this game I'm sure nobody could work out by themselves.

Well "X" is the "panic/boring scene button" for me. Oh, btw I heard someone say "when yuna is in the flowers, you have to press X repeatedly, otherwise you won't get the completion ending even if you do have 100%" but it took me like 20 tries to understand what that meant.
I'm new here, I usually don't have to join forums because someone else asks all my questions/ says what I wanted to say. =)

Well, good to have ya', FFPlaya.

Oh, and I bought the strategy guide. I normally don't either, but I decided I may as well. I could have gotten the info online, but I wanted the guide. And hey, it did come with a neat poster!

I didn't have the guide, I played it on my own but a friend of mine told me her brother had to do that to get 100% so... that's how I found out...

Hmm...where did I put that poster anyway....O well, Im not obsessed enough to put a game poster up, and I never used Alchemy anyway.

Oh, I didn't put that side of it up. It's a two-sided poster. I put up the side with YRP in their Mascot suits.

You should only buy the strategy guide or read a walkthrough if youve all ready cmpleted the game, otherwise it just spoiles it.

pressing x could be a problem to 100% completion just keep pressing x when she says "i'm all alone".

i agree with you...
i kinda discovered this trick unexpectedly with my bratty cousin.
i told her to leave the playstation controller alone while i go to the bathroom, then as bratty as ever, she touched it and pressed X button repeatedly, then she stopped pressing when i came back, then i asked her what she did cause i heard the whistling... then to my shock i saw the shadow of tidus...
then i looked at her and she said she didn't do anything...
giving thanks to her after we played the game, i bought her a large sundae...

a loser... why? when you just look at the faqs, that means you're just looking for like, a guide or something...

The first time you playthrough, I think it's fun to get as much as you can without an FAQ. The second time too, if you want to find some stuff you missed. After that, I say if you wanna look at an FAQ, go for it.
