@BGMaxie as you may or not know there is a second season later this fall any cues/BGM that may have not been included might appear at later date either as a standlone BGM or it might come as bonus with the volume DVD.

Yeah I'm aware, but I was hoping, SO hoping I wouldn't have to wait that long for that exquisite piece of "everything is gone to shit" -_-

Personally, I was waiting for theme from episode 7 when Yu and others were trying to save a girl from monster and then three vampires atacked them. This music was really good! Now another half of a year to wait. Still thank You for soundtrack!

I have to wonder what this soundtrack means for the wider anime industry but it does mean that this OST doesn't have as much filler as Sawano's soundtracks have developed a tendency to have, as Takafumi Wada, Asami Tachibana, and Megumi Shiraishi are assigned the stuff that Sawano is weaker at (Shirashi in particular seems to have a knack for melancholy scoring). The result is a more cohesive and consistent OST than Sawano's been putting out solo as of late. There is also a noticeable lack of vocal tracks on this soundtrack which also helps the sense of consistency and reduces the potential for awkwardness (let's face it, Sawano has never hired the best lyricists for his insert songs).

However, the consistency means that the soundtrack lacks the spine-chilling moments of Sawano at his best. The one time I got that sensation was the fifth track on the first disc (which is Sawano solo, Disc 2 contains the contributions of his apprentices/collaborators). And that track is basically an orchestral version of the show's ending theme. Other than that, it's mostly a sense of "good, but not great" that I'm getting from this soundtrack. Overall, it's definitely worthy of a buy, and I appreciate the lack of vocal numbers so I can stay sucked into the overall mood. The soundtrack removes the lows of Sawano, but it also lacks the highs. It's just . . . consistently good.
