That's fair. Either way, we want the music. Gamerip, OST, wherever it'll come from.

Well, although at first I assumed the OP was asking for a rip for the new patch music from the 2.55 patch Before the Fall, but, SE has just recently announced a complete official FFXIV OST album by that same title: BEFORE THE FALL: FINAL FANTASY XIV Original Soundtrack | SQUARE ENIX (
http://www.square-enix.co.jp/music/sem/page/ff14/Before_the_Fall/en/)
It's not out for another two months though, so obviously you'll have to sit tight (or track down a rip from the game - if you're lucky and quick you might find an upload on Youtube before SE's legal might takes it down).

does anyone have this? i think its out now
If it's out, it would most likely (and probably should be) on any of the Lossless threads seeing as it's from a Blu-ray source like the last two. I am waiting for this, though. Been wanting to hear full-quality versions of these songs since they came out.

It's out! And also, according to Reddit, there's secret tracks like with the ARR OST. Apparently the password for said tracks is "ii"
(looking at VGMDB's listing of the tracks, the secret ones aren't listed, and I don't see the extended version of Through The Gloom either...EDIT: that's because the extended Through the Gloom is under a different name, "A Light in the Storm")

I suspect track 38, 'The Edge', is the theme for Tam Tara Deepcroft HM (which was an extended and remixed version of it's NM introduction theme for 2.0). But until I'm able to order my copy of the album (no money till next week at least), this is just my speculation, as that particular track is noticeably missing from this album, so take that with a grain of salt.
Anyway, thank you for uploading this CZodiark (and Kura too for linking the FLAC version), this will tide me over til I can buy the actual album. :)

It was uploaded by the same person that uploaded the FLAC version, I simply linked it. As for Track 38, the wiki (
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Before_The_Fall:_Final_Fantasy_XIV_Original_Soundt rack) says it's the ninja theme.
Jonah

Tam-Tara HM's theme is on there, under "Dark Vows"
anyways, if anyone has an uncorrupted track 38 and/or the two bonus tracks, that'd be great.

I'd love to have at least the corrupted track fixed and sent out, the bonus tracks would be nice too, though. So yeah, I second this motion.

Well, according to the file with a fixed version of track 38 (The Edge) ZeusEx81 linked above (thank you for uploading that :)), track 62 is The Great Gubal Library dungeon theme from the Heavensward expansion, so it makes me wonder what the second bonus track is (another HW track?).
Also thanks for the clarification about where The Edge played, for some reason I didn't recognize Dark Vows as the Tam Tara HM theme - I thought it was the theme for Sastasha HM! :p (Typing that at two in the morning didn't help!).

Pssst, Enkidoh... the Wiki (
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Before_The_Fall:_Final_Fantasy_XIV_Original_Soundt rack) has had the actual tracklist up for a while now. Other than the Great Gubal Library, the other bonus track is an 8-bit rendition of Titan's battle theme, Under the Weight.
Also, I'm hoping for a higher quality rip of the bonus tracks, but there should be a way to get an uncorrupted FLAC version of the Edge out there. We'll just have to wait and see on that.

Has there been any upload of the album with consistent quality (aside from FLAC)? The one CZodiark linked to wasn't 320kpbs, and the files weren't all at the same quality, either.

I haven't downloaded the MP3 version, but it was probably a Variable Bit Rate conversion then, which is pretty much 320kbps without added data where it's not needed.

Enjoy! :) now off to sleep lol
Not sure if anyone else noticed, but there's an ever so slight bit of static in Track 32: Out of the Labyrinth. It's very subtle but it's near the 0:17-0:18 mark near when the vocals come in (Edit: Now that I listen again, it happens BOTH times the vocals come in). I checked the second upload of the full ost above and it's still there. Any chance we could find a FLAC version of that without that odd hiss?

It's the same file as the ones above, I even redownloaded twice just to make sure. I converted it to MP3, turned off any equalizer and it's still there, same for the other person and we have different set ups and headphones... Maybe I'll try again, but I dunno. :/
Edit: As note, it's only on the left channel that the static occurs, but the fact that I've re-downloaded both versions of the file from both sources above, tells me there's something with the file that's not 100% kosher. I've also tried different media players and my MP3 player same with my friend, and they had the same issue. I've even compared it to the gamerip of the same track, and that doesn't have the static.

After lurking on these forums for so long, I have finally decided to make my first post :P
First I want to thank xsaskex for the amazing upload. While I do have the original at home, ripping it to FLAC is a pain with these Blu-rays.
Second, as Kura here said. I also experience a slight crackling in the left channel in track 32. It indeed occurs when the vocals kick in and only for a small 0.5 sec. This is both for the mp3 and FLAC version you posted. This is also the case for the version of Hikaru. I'm using a DAC+headphone combi which should handle 96/24 files just fine and it also occurs with "simple" pc speakers. But leaving that track aside, the rest plays just fine :)
I'm going to try it out tomorrow on my mp3 player/mobile and see if I can hear it there.

I spent most of the afternoon today researching this and even though I do not hear it I believe I can see why it may be causing some this issue. During that part of the song in both parts where her voice kicks in the left audio jumps past normal bounds. The only reason I can come up with that I am not hearing it when playing it back is because I have my player set to normalize audio when it peaks to high. I am going to work on it a bit tonight but I believe I can correct this issue in audacity and re-upload a corrected FLAC and MP3 by tomorrow when I get off of work. This also happens from the source blu-ray as well when I play it directly.
Yay, so I wasn't the only one who heard it. lol Thanks for the work in advance, xsaskex.

I think it a shame Square-Enix didn't bother with digital release for this (and ARR, for that matter) - it's not like having such a purchase option available would've hurt any. Well, having heard how some of the lesser releases (i.e. Eorzean Frontiers (

Any news on that FLAC track fix? Not trying to be pushy or anything, just wanting to know how things are going. :3
Edit: So... I listened to the fixed The Edge, and found yet another issue in it... at 0:34-0:35, there seems to be some glitchy sound. It's pretty quick, but it definitely doesn't belong in the song. At least it's just that one part and it doesn't repeat like track 32.

Guess I was a bit happy too soon. While your fix did indeed remove the static noise from Track 32, it somehow creates a new problem. This is for both 16 and 24 bit versions. From second 15 to 21 the sound is dulled down. I'm not sure if that is suppose to happen with your fix.
Second, the MP3 link of the static fix track 32 does indeed not exist. I wanted to see if the same problem occurred there.
But there's also good news! Your track 38 has no glitch anymore :) I really appreciate all the work you're putting into this. I myself would never be able to do this.

Again, thanks for coming up with a fix so fast. While the new file does seem to perform better, its kinda distracting. I've done some reading on the interwebs to find how other people tackle with this kind of problems. And sadly most of the time they say its better to just stick with the original file (since the source blu-ray does exactly the same).
Thanks you for your effort in correcting it. The track 38 fix is awesome :)

I'm with Fikkie on this one. I appreciate the work for track 32, but I dare say it's something Square-Enix needs to address and it's better to leave it as the original track. I've tried them out and I'm now really torn between either the static noise or you're version with two little "duds". You have done well to remove the sound and for those who haven't listened to the song a dozen of times, they wouldn't even notice.
I might be asking too much, but if you could make the transition between the normalization (so when it starts and ends) a little bit smoother it will be perfect. Thanks for notifying us and for you great work :)
