The majority of Harold Rome's Broadway song score for FANNY was used in Joshua Logan's 1961 non musical film version, but the songs were adapted by Harry Sukman and used as background scoring for the film. FANNY features some of Rome's most beautiful melodies and the film version exploits the beauty of this music with expanded orchestrations and interweaving the themes within the framework of the film for superb dramatic effect. The Warner Bros soundtrack album from FANNY has been out of print for four decades and has never been released on CD commercially (although a poorly mastered CD of the music was included briefly with the initial copies of the DVD release). Below is a link to FLAC files of my DSD remastered version of the soundtrack from a three track 1/2 inch tape copy of the album master which, unlike the LP, features the uncut Roadshow Exit Music mix used in initial engagements of the film. I hope you enjoy this beautiful score as much as I have over the years.
