Edit (3/8/2015): 7.1 FLAC surround sound now available here: Thread 186702

Prepare for disappointment. This suite does not include "The Last Goodbye". Why? Because it is mixed in stereo for the end credits. No, they didn't make a false stereo upmix, no they didn't put the front channels into the rear channels. No, none of that. Instead, they literally left the rear channels and LFE EMPTY. It's a stereo mix with a center channel that was pulled from the front two channels. What a waste of a good song...

This is The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies End Credits Suite.

Currently it's only available in AC3 5.1 384kbps, but I will post again when it's in 7.1 DTS.

Edit: And here's what the rear channels sound like when they being to transition into "The Last Goodbye"... (be aware, rear channels bitrate is low currently): https://mega.co.nz/#!PY1lUALI!9qmiQn2z6ZgMvO_D1DExMsUiCbp1MIYimpX7iiN Oa7U

Edit 2: There seems to be some confusion. Yes, this is an official 5.1 mix, not a stereo to 5.1 upmix. This was taken from the iTunes digital release of the film which included a AC3 384kbps 5.1 surround sound track. I removed the DRM myself and created this file.

Brilliant, a bad movie with a bad sound mix. Meh...

Mind you that it was just a Web-DL.

It could have been transcoded from AAC to AC3.
A lot of scene groups will do that.

The fault may have been the source uploader.

The source is currently from Russia, too.
Their mix for the Web-DL probably is mean't for theater experience.

I'd wait for an actul release in DTSHDMA.

I hope that's the case. It would be utterly inexcusable if it turned out the song was mixed only in the front & center in the real sound mix.

Well, the AAC version is popping up now.

And it's a stereo track.

The previous films weren't so ripped off.
IIRC, the song wasn't stereo in theaters, either.

It's quite likely the AC3 track is transcoded from AAC stereo or the Russians just didn't think things were that important for the end credits.

Was the whole film in surround sound except the end credits?

@Sparktank This is actually the official iTunes 5.1 AC3 release, not the Russian transcode. Sorry to burst your bubble. iTunes had their early release yesterday so I grabbed it and removed the DRM. The ENTIRE film was in 5.1 surround except for "The Last Goodbye" portion of the end credits.

Oh well... it's not the end of the world, though it does reflect the general quality of Warner Bros.' material these days. Maybe the DTS-HD will have something different.

Bubble bursted, spat at, stepped on, pushed aside, and left to rot.

Bluray better have better mixing.

I damn near cried in theaters listening to the end credits. I was so emmersed and loved the end credits. My friend was patiently waiting for them to end because he knows how much I love 1) the music 2) the end credit music.

The end credits was the greatest part of the film. Heck it was the ONLY great part of the film. :P

Did you like it? I'm sorry if I sounded rude or anything. I just thought the film was awful. Just... I don't even want to get started. :(

On the plus side, I was laughing hysterically almost the whole time. :)

At least we can agree the music (especially The Last Goodbye) was awesome. :D

@Clovie Yup, but right now the only option available is a 5.1 lossy DTS mix (and the rear channels are blank on the song again). I'm waiting for the 7.1 version to show up (should only be a few hours) and then I can make sure there's no rear channel audio and then post the 7.1 lossless end credits here.

It is weird the whole Last Goodbye stereo thing, but at least there's a 48/24bits version of it available. I'm more interested in the credits suite :D

It's going super slow (on purpose).
Maybe a day or two before it's ready.
A day or so before it's completed.
