chorns - that was rather... unnecessary, lol.
Blue Yuna - I use a Wacom tablet in Photoshop. I love Photoshop.
And I'm actually a straight female... the second original character was done as a present for a male friend, so I guess I have an excuse for the lack of clothing?
everyone else - thanks for the compliments ^_^
I don't have any more FF fanart at the moment, but I do have some other stuff I could share :
Summer Fairy (

)
AN Canadian Anime Club Mascot (

)
First Photoshop Piece (

) - excuse the cheesy, cheap background. and the awful feet. this was my first digital picture, so...
Mother Earth (

) - still a work in progress... the stag needs shading and I want to eventually add a background.

sorry I did like the first group of pics though. The second group was ok (compared to the first) I'd like to see the mother earth one when it's done. The Canadian one was really cute.
do you know how to get/use Wacom tablet in photoshop?

Coloring is nice and clean. I think you need to seriously work on proper body proportions. It's an almost constant problem and shows itself differently in each pic that I see it in. Do some life drawing, I suppose.

The mother earth one kinda looks like my youth pastor's wife. I mean she's expecting and her stomach is about the same size and the hair is about the same length the face looks kinda the same it's funny.
really good! Just 1 question: do you LIKE to draw women?

If I didn't, I wouldn't, lol. Actually, it's mostly because I find them easier to draw, being female myself. They also seem to be more popular with people other than myself. I am working on one now with a male in it though. Are you all proud of me? lol
Thanks again for all the compliments... the second batch probably don't look as nice as the first because they are 1-2 years older. I don't get enough time to draw as I would like between all my other hobbies.
Blue Yuna - a wacom tablet is a piece of hardware; a graphic tablet. You can probably buy one at any computer parts store. I got mine from Future Shop, which is the Canadian version of Best Buy. The tablet allows you to draw on it like you would paper (although I say that, the technique is a little different, but you have to have one to see what I mean, it's difficult to explain), so it makes it easier to create nice artwork on your computer as compared to working with a mouse. Although I have seen some dedicated peolple turn out great stuff with a mouse.
edit: And I wish my avatar was a picture that I drew, lol. But it's not, it's from a recently acquired pencil board.

what's a pencil board or whatever??
arafel

Thanks Huntress Krystle!
chorns - a pencil board is a piece of 7"x10" plastic that Japanese school students place underneath their paper for writing. Apparently their paper is thinner there than it is here, so the pencil board (shitajiki) prevents them from marking the pages underneath. It's supposed to be a nice smooth surface to write on.
Of course, like anything, they're highly collectable and I would never use my boards as they were meant to be used. Think big, shiny trading cards :)

The colouring is lovely. Especially in the second two where there's more different tones in the shading. The Tifa one particuarly is a bit flat-looking.
The only big thing I see is that the body proportions are off and some of the poses look awkward. I think if you work on these things it would be great because they let down the beautiful colouring.

Blue Yuna - the best person to get them from is my buddy David. He sells thousands of them on his website www.shitajiki.biz
Warning though, they are highly addictive. When you start to seriously consider paying $100 for a piece of plastic (and think it's a good deal) - walk away quickly O_o
A week or two ago one went for $300 on eBay... and I didn't even think it was that nice of a board. But, to each his own, I suppose.
Terra Fire - I would love to see some of your artwork as well! Please do post it once you get it scanned.

Cool there were some pretty cool Ruroni Kenshin ones. I don't know If I'd be allowed to spend that much money on, as you say, a piece of plastic. My parents probably wouldn't be too thrilled with the ones I wanted anyways.

Please don't stop drawing! It takes hours of practice to improve your talent.
There also seem to be plenty of nice people here who could help critique your artwork to help you improve ^_^
But thanks for the compliments :)

Again the colouring is beautiful but the proportions are really off.
Her head is too small for her body, her right arm is too long, if you visualise it coming down by her side it would probably reach her knee. Her neck looks like it could do with lengthening a little, she looks a tiny bit hunched up and I just don't understand her lower legs. I guess they're knee-high socks but her calves are much too short and her feet very big.

A couple new sketches for you all to enjoy :)
Winter Fairy (

) - A "follow up" to the previous summer fairy picture. It's quite old and I haven't touched it for a while, but I want to finish it for Christmas :)
Kaleido Star Fanart (

) - a newer piece, and nearing completion. Just needs to be coloured now
For Blue Yuna (

) - Posted this one earlier in her request thread. A pic of Rufus from FF7 and B Yuna's original character for her fanfic.
