I was thinking about the story a while ago and actually sat there and figured out something about the story that is quite interesting...

Its basically about Cid, okay. Now listen carefully because this could get a bit confusing...he was born 32 years ago, from when they story starts, right? Well, skipping to a completely different part now, when Elmyra takes Aeris from Ifalna, she looks about 4 or 5 years old right, and I swear somewhere in the game it says that she was 4 or 5, but I may have imagined it.

Anyway, so when Aeris was 4 or 5, it was 16/17 years ago, because Aeris is 22 at the beginning of the game. And as mentioned by someone in the game, this was when Shinra's space program was launched. (I cannot remember who said this, but someone did!).

Cid was the lucky and became the pilot of the Shinra No.26, the rocket that he was going to fly to space. That would mean he would be 15/16 roughly when he was going to pilot the plane.

The war ended between Shinra and Wutai just as the space shuttle was to be launched. And I assume that Yuffie was born after the war finished. And by consulting the game manual, I can see that Yuffie's birthday is November 20th. And Cid's is February 22nd. That means that the war ended in November some time, I think, and Cid would have probably been 15 until Feb 22nd, when he would have been 16 (again, this is all relying on some guess work, here). Don't you think that is a bit young to fly a space shuttle???

My next point: Vincent was born 57 years ago, he is 57, yes, not 27 as it states in the manual. You see as most people will know, Vincent locked himself in his coffin for 30 years and how would he do that if he was only 27. He would be -3!!! Anyway, when Cid was born, Vincent would have been 25. He would have probably been with the Turks then as I assume he locked himself up when he quit the Turks.

If the Turks visited Rocket Town when Cid was ABOUT to fly the rocket, which they probably would have done, Vincent might, just might... have already met Cid!

Its just about the characters and the fact that Vincent could have met CId beforehand. That's all, if you don't like it, don't read it.

Now that I think about it, I remember Cid going on this long tangent, (about him being in the space program back in the day), when you first met him and what didn't make sense was the fact that you just meet this guy, you're like "Hey, what's up?" and he's like, "Hey! Let me tell you about this crap, dude! Blah blah blah mutha fuckin' blah!"

Was that peice of information needed at all? It just didn't feel like it went right there, or something.

Really interesting. The thing I noticed is, Vincent definitely should be older. I mean, he was a turk before, and he was in love with Lucretia. Shephi was not even born at this time. If he was 27 now, how old was he then back then? :rolleyes:

Vincent is 57 in terms of how long he has lived. He is 27 in terms of physical appearance due to the fact that he stopped ageing after Hojo experimented on him.

Well how can I do that? If I don't read it, I don't know if I don't like it or not so basically I didn't read it for no reason at all and if I read it and then don't like it I'm screwed.

we dont really know what Hojo did to Vincent, maybe a side effect of the bestial transformation is some sort of regeneration, thats why Vincent doesn't appear to be 57...

Hojo infected him with Jenova cells. His Limit breaks represent the results of the Jenova treatment. Under stress, Vincent turns into all kinds of monsters, this is the effect of Jenova cells on him. And Jenova cells probably enable Vincent to remain young and strong. He's actualy 57, as Xaos said.

Ah, I see... However there's a few flaws. They Launched the Space Program durring the war. There's more than one Sephiroth. So, Lucrecia, I guess gave birth to a fully grown son, who faught in the war. Which was More than five years ago, because Cloud wanted to fight in the war. (Yes he says it in the flashback in Kalm). So Vincent was 20-22 When Sephiroth was first 'born'. 5 Years in Coffin, 27 it makes sense.

Good point. And if you think about it, Vincent would have nearly been Sephiroth's father if he had continued with Lucrecia and not Hojo.

Vincent IS Sephiroth's father. I'm just waiting for AC to come out and prove me right.

It's an interesting thought SB, I think that Aeris was meant to be seven when she is found by Elmyra, making it fifeteen years ago, and if Vincent had been in his state of sleep for thirty years then due to the fact that he supposedly started his sleep when Lucrecia was pregnant with sephiroth then sephiroth would have been about fourteen or fifteen when the war ended, which is also a little young to be a hero of a war. Also believe that tickettack's comment of Vincent only being in his sleep for five years is true but this would mean that if sephiroth was supposed to have been involved in the war and he was born only four or five years ago then that also makes little sense.
My theory would be that sephiroth was indeed born five years ago but due to an overwhelming amount of Jenova cells into his body not only made him supernaturally strong but also rapidly inscreased his aging gene.

Where do you get the idea that Sephiroth was 5 years old? Sephiroth died 5 years ago (according to the story). Vincent was 27 when Lucretia was pregnant with sephiroth. He is now 57, making Sephiroth about 29 or 30 (or 24 -25 when he died). Now I have to go back through the game again to read Seph's character info during the flashback sequence to see what age he was (I thought I remember it saying 30, but I could be mistaken).

Because of all the mix ups in FF7 they have realased other parts of hte game 2 patch it up.For example FF7:DOC, FF7:AC and some other ones to patch up the story line 2 make the game more understandable.U goota agree wit me on dis one

Yeah, but im sure they brought them out for other reasons other than jsut to explain the story a bit more.
