Ignore the title of this thread. This is merely a test to see who is smart enough to read the first post of a topic before posting on it and who is just a mindless spammer. Anyone who posts in here answering the question in the title will be ruthlessly taunted. Also, I ask that those of you with enough brains to avoid this little trap refrain from pointing it out to others and join in the fun.

The real topic of this spammer trap is "Shinra's cookie jar collection." What are the company's various business ventures and how do they affect the rest of the world?

by 'business ventures' do you mean Mako, Biogenetics, and the Space Program? Or are you referring to something entirely more abstract?

I should Praktice reading threads more thoroughly instead of giving them a brief perusal, I was Praktically hoodwinked. Not really, I just wanted to make puns...

Are the monsters wandering around the planet explained by Shinra messing with life forms and mako? I forgot that part of the story. My gut says yes because I remember the scene where the tube busts open and a monster is "born".

Well Professor Gast was the first to start experamenting with Mako infusion to try and understand the effects of Mako on life. His work was noticed by Shinra (Who at the time was involved in a major war with Wutai). They saw some of the effects that mako produced on various creatures and came up with the idea of building "Super Soldiers' to fight in their war.(Maybe because they were losing? Just speculation on my part). At first Gast was excited about having corporate funding for his research, but later left because he didn't like the direction that Shinra was taking his work. So one of the Shinra scientist assigned to assist Gast took over. Hojo had no moral qualms about this project and since he couldn't get any real volenteers for his project. He decided to 'make his own' so to speak. When his assistant, Lucrecia, volenteered to have a baby, he infused her and the baby with Mako. The result was Sephiroth. He was a true Super Soldier and succeeded beyond Shinra's expectations. With him they were able to turn the tide of war and won.

Now as a side note, what if the baby was actually Vincent's instead of Hojo's? That would add a new twist to the whole thing. It would also explain why Vincent went nuts and had to be 'put down' by Shinra.

Ha, ha, ha, the idea of this thread it good. But the problem is, it is not long enough yet. And I guess, this topic won't get too long, because people don't know what to say to it. When you choose a simple topic, everybody will post, and if the thread is getting real long, some people won't read the beginning anymore. But I don't think, this is going to happen here.

Ok, back to topic

Well, and all I can say is, that stuff like mako, biogenetics, the space program, etc. is just like things in real life.

Ok, there is no mako, but it is like the energy of the earth. For example: A tree! Brings you fresh air. If you cut down a tree you can burn it, what means it will give you energy for it. But at the same time, the nature looses something real important... If you keep doing that, you can make a lot of energy, but the nature is going to die!

Well, and biogenetics and space programs and stuff, these things happen too. The whole game could be a kinda real, and that's why I like it so much. Things like that exist, in different ways. That's all I can say to this topic. ;)

Well, I think that these things do affect at least some people of the planet, but not all. For example, the people of Nibelheim had their lives ruined by Shinra because Shinra created monsters in the reactor. As for mako, the Shinra are destroying the lives of all people of the planet by sucking the energy from it, so I think this is the main problem of the planet(besides meteor, of course). Now to the space program, I think this is the onoly thing that could make the lives of the people better, but Shinra didn't want to invest anymore into the space program because they found something more profitable - Mako energy. They're just destroying the world to get more rich.

this thread's too long for me to read, so i'll just say the Don's house!!!

this idea might work a little better if it was someone else that started the thread. since you started it, a lot of people probably weren't too sure what to think and will read it first, cause they all know your not a big fan of the game. I have noticed in your arguments with people here, that a lot of them don't seem to be all that bright, but I think they are smart enough to at least attempt to read a post by you before responding

A tip for you, Prak. The next time you try something like this, create a new username and password, and create a new topic under that name. No one will know that it's you, and you can make fun of them if they fall for it. Go get'em, Prak! ^_^

No, I knew it was not... but for the first moment I wasn't sure though. I mean, I don't know you. Means, can't tell how bright you are.... (that's no offense ok, so don't take it wrong)

But then I thought, it was a cool answer.... ;)

Ok this has nothing to do with the shinra business ventures but it has been buging me 4 awhile well here i go.
In FFX-2 there is a kid call Shinra at sum point in the game i can remember where exactly he talks about the farplane having a huge amount of energy and that the farplane is like the planets life energy and that it would take a 1000 years to find a way to harness that energy.
Ok you with me so far.
Moving on to FF7. In FF7 there is a company called Shinra and they make energy from the planet.
Did anyelse notice this? Is there a connection? Or am I just reading to much into this?

Hmm... Maybe there is a connection, who knows. Then again, there may be no connection whatsoever. I don't know about this.

OK there was a bit in Midgar I actually liked ( so dont call me a mindless Spammer,... i hate spam :( ) you know after the first bombing mission you meet Aeris and then go to the area where there is a clock to the north and the bridge to the south ( where Cloud jumps onto the train) well i like the architecture of that first area...

as for Shinra pretty much whatever they do ends up causing chaos or destruction on the planet, the mako reactors suck up the 'life' of the planet, the rocket leaves a patch of scorched earth, Sephiroth tries to destroy the planet... the list goes on

ps. I was joking about the midgar bit (* gets chased by all the posters on the forum* ARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH)
