Wow!!!!! Didn't even know Quartet released this Goldsmith gem!

It's still baffling to me that this made Goldsmith earn a Razzie nomination for "Worst Musical Score" in 1986. I guess those asswhipes didn't know any better back then...

Wanted to compare this to my Prometheus CD before buying it and now you gave me the chance.
And thanks to phbart for the comment concerning the Razzie nomination... Had to look it up myself to believe it. I mean WTF? To nominate the film for one or more Razzies would be understandable. But for the score. I adore Jerry Goldsmith and love every note that man ever composed and this one is definately one of my favorites. Even if they would have nominated it in every category (which they do sometimes) I would let the score nomination slide - but it got only two nominations (one for the score and the other for Herbert Lom). So that proves once more that the Razzie awards are mostly mean and stupid (even though they can be funny at times) but there are some Razzie award nominees (and winners) that are closer to my heart than some Academy Award winners.
I think it's from one of Robert Townson's liner notes (don't know which one) where he said something like "Goldsmith always composed the score for the film that it should have been" making a statement for all those wonderful scores that go along with a film which is not such a masterpiece as the score (and we all know there are a few) ...and then again there are all those masterful scores where the film is fittingly great :)
