The Muppet Christmas Carol - Miles Goodman, 1992 (Songs by Paul Williams)
The official release for this was very disappointing. Particularly the Overture (why they felt the need to change the instrumentation, key, and tempo, and remove the Christmas carol inserts beats me!). The film version is absolutely delightful, and there was no need to change it. Also, "Scrooge" was fantastic in the film - the instrumentation (particularly the timps and strings) is gorgeous, but the OST version is just lacking. The amount of score on the OST is pitiful, which is a huge pity as it's a beautiful Christmas masterpiece. "Christmas Future" is particularly spine-chilling.
Does anybody know of ANYTHING more for this??

Haha! Cain is so perfect as Scrooge!!
As I've never properly worked on a DVD/Blu-Ray rip before, could I ask you to maybe have a go for me? Only if you have time of course. The parts I'm particularly anxious to get are the film versions of the Overture, "Scrooge", and any music with the Ghost of Christmas Future theme in it. Having no sound effects/dialogue in "Scrooge" would be so awesome!!

When I open it (keeping it sealed in case someone already bought it for me; got gift receipt handy), and remux it, and watch it, i'll test the different channels to see how it was mixed.

Yes, I have. Several times before finding a bluray remux.
And then several more times before buying it on bluray.
I'll see what time I have tonight to remux it from disc.

There's no official release for a Miles Goodman bootleg/promo/session/etc..... Miles Goodman is probably one of the best 80s composers of all time.... And apart of my top ten ever since "Footloose" and "La Bamba(which is one of the rarest of my gems to get the recording sessions)"

That's a real pity. Obviously, the music is out there somewhere in some archive...

It is a real pity! The only Miles Goodman scores only available that aren't officially in stores is his isolated score to "La Bamba".... I'm stuck on "Footloose" at the moment, but my collector's edition of "La Bamba(with its isolated score)" has been posted if you're interested Sully.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is the only Goodman score I'm familiar with, I'm afraid! Are there any good examples of particular tracks you think are good on YouTube you could link me to?

I don't know if you're a big synthesizer fan, but his score to "Teen Wolf", in my opinion, was a slight downfall....
Other than that, there's other ones like "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", "What About Bob?" and plenty others floating around on youtube

Why thank you generous sir! :D I will admit, cleaning up a few couple of the score tracks were hard, but when there's a will there's a way..... ;)
The tracklist can be found on the "film score hunt thread v.2" thread.

Talking about Blu-rays, I wish mine was region free so I could get the Criterion Collection of FANTASTIC MR. FOX.
Hmm..... I never saw that movie.... I guess I'll have to watch it sometime.

Like i said..... maybe sometime. lol....
but here's an example i just thought about for unreleased scores.... getting unreleased scores is like Disney releasing all their old movies in 16:9 instead of 4:3.... Lady and The Tramp was the very first widescreen Disney film EVER....... still ashamed that the Disney films that are made for 4:3 didn't get a 16:9 release.
James P.Sullivan

The hell you saying? All the movies that were done in the academy ratio (1:37) have been always released in DVD and Blu-ray in the original format, the only difference is that in Blu-ray is a window boxed 4:3 on a 16:9 that's why the black bars, but hat's NOT bad at all, it's STILL respecting the original ratio, and that's the only way to offer the quality of 1080p. You wanting movies that were made in 4:3 be pushed to 16:9 it's a complete abomination to the original picture.. if you are the type of idiots who like widescreen screens completely filled.. well, lucky for you some Blu-rays of Disney movies have got te DISNEYVIEW which fills the black bars with lovely art..
Whoa! Calm down, Ponyo!

Wow. Seriously? I honestly don't even notice the black bars. I remember thinking I would notice the black bars when I watched Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron in widescreen, but I almost immediately stopped noticing them.

Thankfully you don't get bothered by 'em.. mostly because I'm a cinema lover myself and I love the aspect ratios, my favourite are 1:85 and 2:40, basically flat and scope. You see black bars while watching it on TV because the TV is not as big as the cinema screen. I personally don't have a problem with them, some do, but the problem is those who do have the dare to want the movie cropped from their original ratio and that's a bit of an abomination.
I've always had this wish of seeing Lady and the Tramp (and maybe Spirit, how I LOVE that beautiful movie) in a BIIIIG cinema screen just for that same reason exactly; on it the black bars dissapear (they're too big in the TV, since this movie's ratio is 2:55) and you can see all the beauty of it fully expanded to a screen it was made for. In March there was a 35MM! screening of the movie in a cinema in Barcelona that I'd love to go, but sadly it was too far away from me and I couldn't go. DX
Spirit is pretty much my all-time favourite animated movie. There was a 35MM screening of Spirit?? Wow, I wish I'd seen that.

It happened just so suit the ass of people like you who hate black bars so much.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmhzVhYfEk8
Now hold on a minute.... I never said I "hated" the black bars, you're just assuming that I do.... What I said was that I was disappointed that the older movies(Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Etc) never had widescreen editions. Sure, I'd get used to the lovely art for Disneyview if I ever got one of those blurays, but we'll see what happens....
My point being, never assume
