Disney has 5 tracks of score for Big Hero 6, all is on the OST, though.

Oh I'm well aware of that one. But they're all blended together and since they are on the OST I said screw it. You can be sure there will be a full FYC for that one, as well as Into the Woods

It seems most Jackman FYC's are complete scores. Hopefully, for Into The Woods, we will get Sondheim's score. Because, according to the tracklist, of both the standard and deluxe, we won't be getting any score. Just songs. Or something, the songs aren't credited to Sondheim at all..

Lucy turned out to be much better than I expected. (The notion that we only use 10% of our brain is pure new age nonsense, but Besson builds a good movie based on that premise.) The ending is a little weak and abrupt but consistent with what precedes it. Johansson sells her transformation utterly. It's going in my blu ray library.

Zimmer isn't the reason for the lack or orchestra. He does use electronics but almost always has a healthy supplement of orchestral elements. Blame directors, studio heads, and today's audiences who see traditional scoring as corny or "old fashioned". He found a sound that worked for him, but once it was attached to a blockbuster, that's all some directors / studio suits wanted.

Which is true, but really we all know that in general Zimmer tends to augment and overly process the orchestral elements so they sound electronic. It's a shame when he does it because he really doesn't need to.

He's not only testing things in score, but just the creation and presentation of it.

Slowing down Edith Piaf, using the fan base to chant, mixing for extreme matrixing in 11.1 audio, making the music the epicenter of drama and effect for onscreen (I hear that Interstellar is designed to focus largely on the music in certain scenes where it drowns out everything else).

The man is like a kid with a short attention span with the unlimited technological access that Bruce Wayne has.

He needs things to be challenging for himself. However that may be.
Making orchestra sound electronic is something fun for him to do because he can.

Is it still the old issue of the ":" in the title, cause if that's the only issue you are having you can unzip the file in windows explorer, it will say it didn't work, but if you refresh the window where you copy your file to, you will see it there smiling back at you :)

I've seen all 3 on eBay, Gone Girl just sold on Monday night (I think?) for over $60. Birdman - I've seen several listings for it, all of them are at $89.99. Who in their right mind would think they're gonna get that much for that awful score, I have no idea. It was terrible. It sounds like an amateur junior-high garage band jam session

EDIT: Apparently Gone Girl's FYC is the same as the original release? What about Birdman? They both have 16 tracks, but undisclosed names on the FYC version...

It's the same. Although I remember it was just a few cues.
The actual CD promos consisted of the entire score, 19 tracks from the OST release.

It seems most Jackman FYC's are complete scores...
If only we had some for his from other years, namely Winter Soldier, would LOVE a complete of that.

The first (and most common release, which has caused this confusion) is the regular release of the soundtrack, but on plain discs with black text. The track names are all the same as the retail version, along with the same times. The only difference to the packaging is the back cover, which different from the retail version and has no track names. This version was sent out to every award body for consideration, except the Academy.


The second, and by far the rarest of the two (and one of the rarest FYC scores in the last few years), is the full official score as heard in the movie. It includes the correct mixing, edits, and even a few unreleased cues. This one is one CD, and has 33 tracks. It's an official silver disc, and is even numbered as the Academy promo on the smaller inner ring. Few copies of this exist, so it's no surprise that it isn't widely available.

The full score wouldn't fit on one CD. Have a look at the cue list. It is two compact discs.

The one I have is the full score, as evidenced by watching and rewatching it with the cues played.

Whomever gave you that information must have deliberately split up the tracks, as the ones on the CD I have are combined with other tracks.

Update: I doubled checked, and the official CD I own has this exact same tracklisting, save for some of the tracks are merged with others. But as I have said, I also listened to this with the movie, and the cues exactly match.
