This game is really slow, like when youre in the field and you open up the menu i think i can recall it being like 7 seconds to come on! and the battles take ages to start when you get into one aswell. has anyone else noticed the speed of this game?

When you start playing a lot of newer games (much more faster pace), it tends to make you notice how slow certain things are.

And plus the loading on the CD versions of FF6 is rather slow.

Dude just download the FF 6 rom and use the ZNES (i think) emulator. It has a built-in turbo speed function which rocks.

Yeah, it's the ZNES. When I started playing FF6 on the playstation, it'd slow down doing certain things (like switching to the random encounters), but when I played on an emulator, it ran perfectly fine.

What are what, exactly? Roms, emulators, or something else I didn't get?

The ZNES is basically a program that emulates the Nintendo, but on your computer. Roms are like the Nintendo cartridges, but again, just for your computer. They're all free and downloadable from the internet. I aquired mine from a past boyfriend, so I don't know any reputable websites that have these. I'm sure other people on the forums can be more helpful.

I have the cartridge version and the PSX version. Cartridge version is incredibly fast past and never takes time to load menus or battles. However the PSX version is another story, I never played through it completely but what I did play proved to be quite slow in comparison.

Well, if you only played the newer games, the older ones look very slow of course. But I think, FF-VI isn't too bad. I had a lot of problems with FF-IV though.

I haven't got round to playing the PSX version of FF-VI, but yeah the older ones do seem slower....

Yes, its very slow, slower then the FFVII menu loading times, which can be rather annoying, but to be honest just get it on pc.
