Dear FF SHRINE.

I think we should have a section for request for downloads of full DVDR. DVD5.Downloads.
Anime movies you can download and burn to a 4.7 GB DVDR. AKA DVD5. For NTSC and PAL.
( do Japanese DVDR play in a Canadian stand alone DVD player ? JAPAN is region 2 right ?

there is a lot of anime I really really like that I would love to Have a full proper DVDR.
4.7 DVDR burn so I can play them in stand alone DVD and bluray players.

Like.

WICKED CITY ( the anime not the live action )
FIST OF THE NORTHSTAR ( the movie )
ANGELS EGG. This is a great example because I think Angels egg on DVD on eBay is around $140.00.
FIRE AND ICE. ( not anime but whatever. )
MALICE@DOLL
BIO HUNTER.
LEGEND OF THE DEMON WOMB.
PHYCHO DIVER
VIOLENCE JACK
THE DARK MYTH.

I found a NSTC copy of Wicked City and Fist of the Northstar a few days ago but the torrents just sit there as stalled in both torrent and utorrent. They are just dead.

There is also a lot of weird dark Hentai that has offical DVD releases that
I have just never seen a full NTSC DVDR DVD5 rip of. like.

ANGEL OF DARKNESS. ( the four part HENTAI. Not the live action hentai. ).
ALIEN FROM THE DARKNESS
BRIDE OF DARKNESS
SPY OF DARKNESS.

and pretty much anything else by Kitty Media on a full DVD5.

Obviously. .mkv. .avi. .ogm. . MPEG. Are way easier
And after but if you really like a movie it's nice to have a full DVDR of it in a wallet you can put INNA stand alone plater when all your computers are not turned on or you don't feel like turning them on.

You know... you could always BUY it, either at a store or online store, instead of a ripped (and more than likely, degraded) copy...

Yeah but I live close to Toronto and I am telling you Guys there are no places
To buy those DVDs in Toronto or the GTA. and Angels Egg on DVD on eBay is
$140.00 without shipping and I think I have seen BIOHUNTER for freaking $80.00
On eBay and wicked city for like $80.00 as well. I would rather eat sometimes you know what I mean ?

If you google Mamoru OSHIIs. Angels Egg DVD5 you get a forum post
But unless I am retarded there is no torrent link in the post.

Because torrent links are forbidden in this forum. Links to movies are forbidden in this forum, as far as I have been told. I do not **think** there is an exception for anime. So, a sub section would not be created for it, and posted links would in theory be removed. Ya need to find a site like shrine but geared towards anime. I am quite sure they are out there.

Oh. I am sorry. Before I made this forum posts. I was thinking that this COUKD be. A sub section. Sub category. Of the.

ANIME DOWNLOADS section.

I don't really hang out on the "anime downloads" section so I was unaware
Of the rules. I mostly hang out on the anime music request section.

If anyone wants to edit or delete this post then feel free. I will delete it
Or edit it. I am sorry I wil read the forum rules sometime soon.

The above forum/subforum has been there for quite a while. Also a mini-website/blog was created, hosting "articles" containing download links of Anime(s). I've seen quite a few torrent-links to Anime-related OSTs, and also Video Game-related OSTs scattered around the forum, without 'em getting removed.

So, it seems your information is a bit outdated.

You're better off buying the DVDs/Blu-rays rather than downloading a copy that probably has inferior audio and video quality. Besides, there are about one zillion sites you could browse for such DVDrips.

A I have said, I was not sure about anime. However, Jessie has ade it clear many times torrent links are forbidden. Now, that also means he would have to decide to remove them. I do not go into those forums. I know links such as that are killed in the music section (if reported or seen). Not outdated info, just....iffy. Difference.

I do know that links to movies, such as, say, Planet of the Apes, are removed and Jessie has said they are forbidden. I thought there was an anime dl, but why those are allowed where mainstream cinema is not, I dunno. I don't wanna know. But if I may ask, if there is an anime download section already, then why would we need the sub-forum? I guess then I don't understand the technical question?

There are other forums and torrent sites that are likely to have all your DVD needs.
They provide ISO's, but no idea how true they are. A lot of places like to compress down to DVD-5.
or use CCE SP3 to run 100 passes on the video.

I was / am thinking a subsection for ntsc DVD5 and DVD9 / 8.5 whatever.
And a section for PAL dvd5 and dvd9.

And maybe one for dvd5 and dvd9 for all other regions.
JAPANESE dvd5 / dvdr / they all play in a CANADIAN / USA stand alone Bluray player and DVD player anyway right ?

I started this thread because I really like my .ISO / cluster of .VOB files. Full dvdr burns of

Genocyber
Battle Angel ALITA
M.D. Geist
Laputa Castle in the Sky
The Castle Of Calagastro
Gandahar. Aka light years.

ECT ect.

It kind of drives me nuts that it appears no one has ripped a dvd5 of stuff like.

WICKED CITY ( the anime not the live action. ) STREAMLINE DUB OR UK DUB
BIOHUNTER
FIST OF THE MORTHSTAR
MAMORU OSHIIS ANGEKS EGG
and there is also a bunch of dark / sick Hentai that has a officially retail dvd release
From Kitty Media that I have never seek a dvd5 or dvd9 rip like

SPY OF DARKNESS
ANGEL OF DARKNESS 1 to 4
BRIDE OF DARKNESS
ALIEN FROM THE DARKNESS.

I would also be willing to share all of those DVDS via a full dvd5 and / or a dvd9
Using either dvd shrink and share them on this Fourm if and when I eventually
Buy them. But the thing is I keep telling myself I am going to eventually
Load up a prepaid credit card and buy those DVDS from either EBAY or right stuff
But I never wind up doing it because it's too expensive for me I can't afford it
And I would rather buy groceries so I don't stave to death

Anyways I have to go to work. To be continued

Try get into private trackers, they're usually better at retaining original quality (no recompressing) and have a huge variety.

A seedbox and a few private trackers to develop trust-worthy ratio, and your doors will open.

If anyone is interested I found a site that does not need an invite but you have to make an account before you use it
and its not in English but if you use Google Chrome it will translate ... The site has a section specifically for Anime DVD5 and Anime DVD9
In less than two days I have found a DVD5 of Mamoru OShiis Angels Egg that works escept the DVDR has no English Subtitles but who
cares because there are only like 4 small lines in the whole movie. I have also found a DVD5 of Fist Of The Northstar 1986 ( just the fucking movie I don't care about the series )
and I am watching it right now and it looks good ... Its has English and Japanese and Russian Audio ..... Thats what I have successfully burned and played in a Stand Alone Player
so far and its 3:45 PM on Jan 18th 2015 ...........

I am downloading a DVD5 of WICKED CITY and FIRE AND ICE ( Ralph Bakshi ) right now and I will let you know how the burns go .......

the site also has the whole CRYING FREEMAN SERIES in DVD5 Format which I have never seen anywhere else
and Also the Gunsmith Cats but that's maybe not really worth saying here because those might be on other sites

However the site has no DVD5 of

BIOHUNTER
MALICE@DOLL
VIOLENCE JACK
THE DIMENSION TRAVERLS
THE DARK MYTH
PSYCHO DIVER

and it also does not have any of the weird dark creepy ass Hentai movies I like that
has an official DVD release like

THE ANGEL OF DARKNESS 1-4 SERIES
SPY OF DARKNESS
and ALIEN FROM THE DARKNESS

I think that stuff is just too weird and creepy and dark and fucked up and maybe
the people who buy that stuff just don't announce to the world that they buy that stuff
or maybe I am just the only person in the world who really likes that stuff ...
Perhaps one day I will buy all that stuff myself and share it ...........

If anyone wants to know the site PM me ....

I know we live in a digital world of fucking HUGE ass fucking 1080p .MKV rips of movies that are
so fucking huge they probably look just as good as a brand new DVD .. Today for example I
found the hugest .MKV 1080P Bluray rip I have ever seen in my live so far .. it was a 46.3 GB rip
of LOLITA 1997 ...... But sometimes I just really REALLY like having a kick ass collection of DVDR / DVD5 / DVD9
.ISO Burns / Cluster of .VOB Files aka DVD Files in a few giant DVD Wallets laying around ... there are lots
and lots of times I don't fucking want to fire up any Computers hooked up to my TV Sets ... and I don't feel like
hearing the humming and the fans on my PCS in my bedroom and I like to just throw a fucking DVD5 / DVD9 into
a Stand Alone player ...... Plus I ahve three Printers that print on Printable DVDR / CDR and I am a nerd with
way to much time on my hands ..... Also I am 39 years old and I did not have any computer skills until around 2004
so burning a DVD5 and putting it in a Stand Alone player will always feel to me way more like magic than playing
a video file on a computer hooked up to a TV ..... And I currently don't have a All Region Bluray player that plays
every file format known to man ( I am going to get one of those in April ) and I also currently don't have any bluray burners

Question ..

If I have a Stand Alone Bluray Player that will play .MKV and .AVI and .MPEG does that mean I can buy a
Bluray Burner and burn like 48 GBS on Video files on a 50 Gb Blank BD-R and should all the files play
no problem on a Stand Alone Player ?

OK I am going to burn WICKED CITY DVD5 now

I will be honest it was a pretty good feeling having a working DVD5 of MAMORU OSHIIS ANGELS EGG even with no
English Subtitles ... I have only ever seen that for sale on eBay for $140.00 and that's not with shipping .... I fucking
can't pay that much for one DVD

It should. But not all files may work.
I have hit or miss with my Sony BDP. Depends on some settings for the encode or just generally doesn't like some MKV's.
Even if they are compliant, I still get some playback issues.

If the audio format is compatible, is a huge factor.
For file_playback (not authored_BD; like retail disc), TrueHD isn't normally supported.
All DTS formats are, as the DTS core is read.
Not all players create an AC3 extraction out of the TrueHD formats.

Since it's all DVD formats, there shouldn't be any real problems.
The only problems you might run into is if the video was pressed to disc in a different aspect ratio.

Like a 16x9 movie mastered to a 4:3 aspect ratio on disc. It'll be ugly and you have to change screen settings for that movie.
Some movies were like that for DVD. "Six Days Seven Nights" with Harrison Ford and Anne Heche was like that.

Interlaced content should deinterlace decently.
Unless the movie was interlaced mastered as progressive. That can also happen.
In which case, it'll look ugly with combing artefacts galore.
I see it a few times as an issue people are trying to fix on the doom9 forums. But, since it's a mastering fault, there's nothing to be done sadly.

Different framerates from different countries (PAL vs NTSC) should only be a problem if your TV is one of those old ones with a tube.
Newer TV's in LCD, plasma, etc should support all these framerates without issues.
Or maybe that's just authored_disc. Maybe file playback will be different... :erm: :itsamystery:

I am going to buy an All Region BLURAY / DVD Player on the first of April its either going to be a

SONY S1200

or a SONY S5200

I am pretty sure I am going to go with the S1200 because I think both of those players all play the exact same Video File Formats and
Audio and Photo Formats .... I think the only difference is the SONY S5200 has WIFI and 3D Playback .. I always update the firmware
on my Region Locked Two Stand Alone Bluray players Via Ethernet and I currently don't have a 3D TV set ..... Are you familiar with
those two players SparkTank ? If So what would you recommend ? Do you own a Region Free Stand Alone Bluray Player ?

I am not too worried about some video files not playing on a burned 25 or 50 GB BD-R because I would probably burn so
many different video files to the blank disc that I would probably have Dozens and Dozens of video files so if a few don't work
I would just move on to the next one

Wicked City DVD5 has no Japanese Audio .. its Russian or Japanese with English Subs but its still a good copy
I don't mind watching it in Japanese .............

I am burning FIRE AND ICE right now .... Animated

I don't bother with region-free.
I decypt/remux to PC so don't have to worry about regions anymore.

I have the Sony BDP-3100 and it's okay.
Crashes (dead-locks) on some remuxes that compliant format (AVC+DTS in MKV).
No idea why, but that's just the nature of a stand-alone. Probably remuxing with MKVToolnix with extra command line options added will help fix the issue, but that requires several remuxing tests with different permutations of different sets of options as it could be one or a combination of any of them.

Wi-Fi is good to have if you don't want/can't plugin directly. Or plan to use it for streaming of any sorts.
3D, you can easily drop that if you don't have a 3D TV.

Newer models should handle MKV file playback better than older models.

Region 1 DVD's are NTSC.
That upload is PAL format, from a different region.

But, most uploaders strip Region from DVD's before uploading.
So it will work on all players, Region 1 players, Region ALL players, etc.

You shouldn't have problems as far as region-lock is concerned.
Just if you can play PAL on your TV.

proteus4000

I have a very inexpensive stand alone DVD player by DYNEX that plays PAL DVDS.

The DVD5 of Fore and Ice is the first PAL DVDR I gave ever burned that will not play
In the DYNEX player. Also when I put the Fire and Ice DVDR in my other two stand alone
Players it does not just show the back and white waving lines. It says WRONG REGION
and one of them the tray even pops out.

so that means it's PAL and it's not in my region and I just never bumped into one before ?

---------- Post added at 09:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:09 PM ----------

I thought that any DVD or DVD5 or DVD9 plays on any pc. Or on any optical drive on a PC and you can use Windowd Media Player Classic or VLC Player or Windows Media Player or Winamp or anything you want. Regardless of what Region or PAL or NTSC .... I am specifically looking FOR DVD5 to play in stand alone bluray and DVD players.

tehƧP@ƦKlyANK -Ⅲ

For PC playback, you still need an unlocker/decryptor.
Slysoft's AnyDVD works and lets you playback region-locked/encrypted movies.

Hard to say really what's up with the Fire & Ice download you got.

proteus4000

In the history of my life I think every DVDR / DVD5 / DVD9 I have ever downloaded has players on Windows media player classic and VLC player. But thanks for telling me about AnyDVD. I will install it sometime soon.

I can just wait until I buy my all region bluray player to watch the Fire and Ice DVDR and I also plan on buying the bluray. If I reakky like a movie I always buy the real bluray brand new. If I really REALLY like a movie I buy the real DVD and the real BLURAY. I only download computer files because I can't afford to buy them.

Also it would make more sense to me to watch a .MKV BD rip of Fire and Ice using VLC or WMC on a PC hooked up to a TV than watch the dvd5 with AnyDVD even if I was not getting a all region player on April 1st.

I watch movies from PC to TV all the time. It's a lot better than using the BDplayer.

I'd buy a digital media player that's dedicated to playing all sorts of files, but the PC-to-TV is so simple, the only reason I'd need the digital MP is when I visit family and want to watch movies there.

Is your TV an old CRT TV? With bulb and whatsnot?
Mine is an old 1080i that's heavy and bulky from 2007. It can't handle PAL discs (25fps/50interlaced).
It can play from the PC-to-TV with 25fps, though.

FPS is restricted from DVD/BD players, if I'm not mistaken.

Onyko is pretty popular. I'd go with that.
There was a thread in the GD section where some people dropped some names.

About $100 for a decent one.
Plug in your external or put in your data disc with files and it will do the rest for you.
Like tiny PC with less limitations than a BD/DVD player with file support.

A lot of positive reviews.

Roku is really popular.

I also might try and share them over eMule However I tried to share my RIP of the NE0-TOKYO
OST over eMule and It did not work

Thread 190516

I Can't share anything on eMule I don't know what I am doing wrong I tried to make
a "room" and see if I could send my Vocals Files to my Management with eMule but
I Could not figure it out .....................

THE LEGEND OF THE DEMON WOMB DVD I think was only released by These guys

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Park_Media

and I think it has a parental block thing but I don't think new DVD and Bluray
players support that function anymore so it should be fine .....

I know we live in a world of Millions of well made DVD-rips and Bluray Rips and
sometimes hue ass .MKV files .. The 1997 Remake of Lolita so far is the biggest
.MKV rip I have ever seen it was over 40 GB . When You are dealing with a rip that
huge it would probably look just as good as the retail BLURAY and maybe if you
have a good enough video card it might even look better than the BLURAY but
sometimes I just feel like all my computers are sort of trying to seal and suck my
soul our of me .. Like when I sleep I and I hear the case fans it feels like my
computers all sort of want to kill me and suck my soul out or something its nice
to just throw in a DVD and turn off all my PCs or if I have had a rough day and
Don't even want to look at Windows 7 I just want to watch a fucking movie ....

As a rule, a well-encoded MKV of high definition content (720p or above) will exhibit higher quality than an untouched DVD source, at significantly higher compression. Particularly where anime is concerned, the nature of the video lending itself particularly well to compression. The only time a DVD-ISO download is genuinely viable is when it is the highest quality version of something. (Not everything is available in a High Definition source, of course...)

If you're still interested in DVD from a perspective of playability or even just because that's what you're used to, that's OK... but what you are asking for is, to all intents and purposes, obsolete.

It is very possible (not to mention insanely simple) to re-encode MKV to DVD - and yes, if you do it right, your 2gb 720p MKV of Angel's Egg will make a handsome quality DVD (as much as is permitted by the DVD specification, at least) saving you 3gb of downloading... and as a bonus, you have a better-than-DVD quality MKV of Angel's Egg sitting around ready for you if and when you need it.

I'm sure you could do it - in considerably less time than you have spent through your efforts creating this thread, trawling the web for ISOs, and waiting for ludicrously bloated downloads. In making this thread, you justify your need for these pointless downloads by saying you "can't figure out" alternatives - and in the same breath you deride those who can't get the ISOs manually and require your assistance on Soulseek as "too stupid"...

In short... in all honesty... learn how to do this stuff. Put in the time to learn how to reach your goal. It's not hard, and I think you're already halfway there.

PS - region coding does not apply to downloaded DVDs in 99.9999% of cases (it's technically possible, but it's not like anybody would ever region code a pirated DVD...) and if you're unlucky enough to find an ISO which has its region coding intact, it is trivial to remove it prior to burning.

All you need is free software and a little bit of effort.
