It’s been 40 years since the film was released, right? It’s a John Williams score, right? From a Steven Spielberg film, right?

I wonder what else we need to get an official release…

I remember listening to a radio interview years ago in which John Williams expressed a lot of hesitancy in releasing a soundtrack from this film.

Well… if he meant the source music (unfortunately more prominent on the 2� bootleg which has the best sound), then yes, those should be shelved for good! But actual score is really good. Not terrific nor something that will sell out in less than 24 hours, but it’s still good.

I always liked this score. I remember seeing the film at the theater in the summer of 75′ as I remember, maybe 74′ and the scene toward the end after Atherton is shot and they drive away with Hawn throwing all the baby stuff out the window. The music playing over that scene was incredible. The fast cuts and tight shots really stuck with me and I have never forgotten that scene to this day. I remember looking for the soundtrack for a long time after as I was starting to collect them. I’m glad the tapes were finally found and put out there.
