Hi,
I have the weirdest problem today, I can't access ffshrine anymore, and it's the ONLY website I can't access.
I can go to ANY other website.
I haven't been banned or anything.
So I decided to install an addon for Firefox which let me use a Proxy, and with that I could access it and post this message.
But it makes internet go slower and anyway it's a temporary solution only.
Also, this proxy switcher solution seems very unstable...
I really don't understand what's happening, can anybody help me?
Oh and I just checked... The message I get is...

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at forums.ffshrine.org.
Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Also, I'm in France at the moment.
Thanks (T_T)

It's likely just that the site was temporarily down.

Yeah when I'm not sure, I use that website to make sure it's working or not =>
Ffshrine.org - Is Final Fantasy Shrine Down Right Now? (
http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ffshrine.org.html)
And ffshrine was UP the whole time.
Anyway today it's working, and I'm not using the proxy anymore... So... I don't get it. lol :o

Oh wow interesting, I'll bookmark that website. he he :)
Well unfortunately I don't know how to help you, since I have no idea myself why now it works on my side.
Just be patient, I guess. :)
It should work soon.

I said temporarily. It happens. No server is perfect.

I cannot access even with a proxy. I can get on at the library (like now), but not at the office complex and not at home. It seems as if my IE provider is now blocking the site (My complex and I use the same provider while the library does not). The techs I call for help there also cannot get on, though i know the site IS running fine. At the library I cannot up or download anything, and get 15 minutes per turn. I will not be able to continue to participate here unless admin or someone can clue me in as to why it is now blocked. Today is a full 24 hours where Cox (my provider) says that the site's url does not exist.

Maybe be a bit more patient? (T_T)
Also I wonder in what country you guys are living?
I know that some countries actually prevent access to some websites. (French can't access Gamefront, for example...)
So I'm always worried that they ban ffshrine in my country... (T_T)

I think Amaury nailed it: probably server/DNS resolvers' hiccups.
I live in Italy, I mostly use the "DNS" of my Internet Provider, or the ones 'offered' by Google (
8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4); yesterday's evening (around 9:30 PM, local time) I suddenly couldn't reach Final Fantasy Shrine, any more, this unavailability lasted for hours... Through which I've got "glimpses" of the forums going off and on: say, I was viewing a thread on here->Refreshed the page->Server at ffshrine.org can't be reached blah-blah error->Tried again after 15-20 minutes... The page loaded correctly->Rinse and repeat.
EDIT:
Today the website's functionality seems completely restored, at least on my end. Fast as usual with both my default and Google's DNS.

Oooo...my turn again. Last message for the day I think. I do not get a google or browser message saying site not found. I get a message from my cable company saying the url does not exist. I have never had that for any site, even dead ones. It is always the browser or search 404's, or vbulletin. THIS message is from Cox Cable, saying I can't go here.

Then (as much as I think it is unlikely, mind)... That would be a problem solely between you and your cable company? It doesn't sound like something which could/should be fixed on ffshrine's end, your cable company is pulling an odd one, you said it yourself.

the proxy link i posted above works fine.if you get a blank page in ffshrine using this proxy,go back one step and try again.
i dont have access to the site for more than 24 hours without the proxy.all the p2p websites i visit regularly work fine without the proxy.

I get the same message using proxies, I have tried several suggested ones.

Tried the good ol' ipconfig /flushdns trick?

I had the same DNS problems and fixed them by adding these lines to the hosts file (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_(file)):
96.31.69.127 forums.ffshrine.org
96.31.69.127 img.ffshrine.org
The file is usually C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts and it may be hidden, but following the steps of this web (
http://www.rackspace.com/knowledge_center/article/how-do-i-modify-my-hosts-file) should be enough to be able to edit it.
Open it in Notepad and add those two lines. If that works, check out in the next days if you still need them (remove them). It is preferable not to have them: if the server IP changes someday and you don't remember this, you would be again unable to access the forum.

apparently there was a problem with the registrar, but it should be sorted out now. it might take a little bit to propagate.
Quoting Sarah from facebook.
So it might be a while before the site loads properly again for some people.
