Title: Meredith Wilson's The Music Man
Artist: Cincinnati Pops/Kunzel
Year: 1991
This Release: 1991
Label: Telarc
Format: Flac
Size: Wav - 728 MB
Scans included
This Telarc title is probably the closest this orchestra has come to including a complete film soundtrack. This title may be better than you might think. Timothy Noble has a booming Robert Preston type voice but is a far better singer.
Very interesting proposition here. A must listen. Thank you very much!

Would love a link to this. I've been searching for this for some time on this thread but there doesn't seem to be any other link to The Music Man. Would have liked a link to the original film version, but having said that this one sounds as though it might even be a better version.
Timothy Noble has an even more booming voice than Robert Preston and has an amazing singing voice. The sound quality from what I've heard of the OST has never impressed me.

Funny story...when I was a little kid my parents would play the soundtrack album all the time.
I thought the lyrics were "the sadder Budweiser Girl"

Well, anyone singing is better than having "Ferris Buehler" singing it! Hehehehehehe :D
They (the studios) were actually entertaining the idea of having RICHARD BURTON play Professor Harold Hill!!!!! (he could not sing, could he??) But they were also considering him to play the role of Captain James T. Kirk for STTMP!!! God, to be a exec in the studio system, I could be firing these no talent IDIOTS right, left and SIDEWAYS! hehehehehe :D
Would love to give this a listen, please.

Amazing recording! thanks for the link!
Many thanks Kenny, I prefer the songs with a faster tempo and having Robert Preston's voice, but the orchestrations by Kunzel are great.
