I honestly don't see a difference between uncompressed .wav and flac. I'm new to the whole FLAC thing, so feel free to explain. :)

Flac format takes less space (compressed format) and has way more file tagging possibilities (meta data).

My M4A files are almost equivalent to the FLAC lossless when I compare them on SPEC. I'm surprised that you ask for it, unless you just want the FLAC but really don't have the knowledge behind your request. Here, see the results. What you're asking for is a file with a ONE kHz difference, and you really think you'll notice that? I would rather see something that is not been posted on here, rather than see the same title in every different format.

Don't get pissed, We are all trying to learn and contribute here, you had a good question, that's how I learn and find out stuff is by reading other peoples questions and the answers they get.

One thing I read on this forum because from time to time these same questions pop up in other treads is that AAC - Advanced Audio Coding is way better than mp3. It is perceived as an proprietary Apple format
because everything you get on iTunes is in AAC format which is why in the case of this thread it is acceptable, being commercially the best you can hope to get. Flac format is open source and is free to all which is
one of the reasons iTunes doesn't use it. The mos important to me is the fact that Both AAC and FLAC have no set bit rates. So depending on who ripped it you get different outcomes. Just because it's flac doesn't
mean it's the best. If the bit rate is set to low, it can sound just as bad as MP3.

I really want to see uploads that I can enjoy as well as you all are enjoying if you know what I mean. Sometimes I get bummed out that there isn't a lot of offerings that I can take advantage of, but they just might not be available.

It's important to me that the file-format is lossless. If possible, a bit-perfect copy. FLAC, APE, ALAC... Who cares?
And if a release is only available in AAC, this is fine with me, because it is better than nothing and I am grateful for the offer.

I see some confusion here :).

Let's suppose that I have an original CD, which I bought at the store, so perfect LOSSLESS. Now, I could do:

CD --> EAC/XLD --> WAV
CD --> EAC/XLD --> FLAC
CD --> EAC/XLD --> ALAC
CD --> EAC/XLD --> AAC
CD --> EAC/XLD --> MP3

Now let's talk about AUDIO QUALITY and SIZE:

FLAC = WAV in quality, but FLAC size is smaller. So FLAC is better than WAV.
ALAC = WAV in quality, but ALAC size is smaller. So ALAC is better than WAV.
AAC < WAV in quality, but AAC size is smaller. So ALAC is better than WAV? Yes but only if you have a poor audio source or headphones.
MP3 < WAV in quality, but MP3 size is smaller. So MP3 is better than WAV? Yes but only if you have a poor audio source or headphones.
AAC > MP3 in quality, but only if bitrate are similar (e.g. 192 kbps AAC, 192 kbps MP3). So AAC is better than MP3.

Which are poor audio sources? These: iPod/iPhone (or Samsung, or else) smartphones, PC/NB analog out, and other similarly priced items.
Which are poor headphones? These: iPod/iPhone (or Samsung, or else), Skullcandy, cheap chinese and other similarly priced items.

Which are good audio sources? These: PC/CD Player SPDIF/COAX out + DAC + Amp.
Which are good headphones? These: Sennheiser Momentum, AKG K-701...

If you have a decent audio source and headphone, then I bet you'll notice the difference between, say, FLAC and MP3, like going from night to day. You'll even hear the differences between CD and Vinyl, too! This is why I always like to share in FLAC only, if I have the original lossless files! ;)

Another note: you could find FLAC/ALAC/LOSSLESS files with "strange" bitrates (whilst WAV @44.1 kHz 16 bit stereo is always around 1411 kbps), but those will always be better than MP3/AAC/LOSSY, because you do not lose information with a LOSSLESS codec! For example, if I compress a document with Winrar, the size is smaller than original file, but I can extract the archive obtaining the exact original file, because compression with Winrar doesn't involve loss if information!

Here is a final rank in terms of audio quality, from best to worst:

1) WAV, FLAC, ALAC
2) AAC
3) MP3

A final warning, you can do this:

FLAC <-> WAV <-> ALAC

(from LOSSLESS to LOSSLESS is OK!)

But NEVER do this:

MP3 -> AAC
AAC -> MP3
MP3 -> WAV/FLAC/ALAC

(from LOSSY to LOSSY/LOSSLESS is VERY bad!)

Thanks for that, now I know what the difference is and I really enjoyed it. The Score must be something like if you were to play the entire film from beginning to end without any special effects or voices? It seems the "Cast & Crew" is similar to that as well?

Cast and Crew album are gift to members of studio worked for film (usually give for release party giving). link in sig to thread with many. most time having full complete instrumental score - times not even on fyc (ie only source for full score).
some like sully having made edits with ost, fyc, and C&C to get all little pieces for some film.

These soundtracks are amazing. Wonder if we'll also get the Phineas and Ferb Star Wars soundtrack?

Yes, without the words. I really enjoy the MUSIC of Disney even more than the songs of Disney. It's always nice to hear different renditions of the famous Disney titles done by different orchestras, artists, etc. Mr. Gold gave me the Japanese releases of "Disney on Classic" and those are awesome. They would be even better in FLAC quality and some were not complete, so if anyone has those, it would be awesome to be listening to those in HQ!

It's not how I operate, sorry you had difficulty finding my post, but for me, this is how I enjoy sharing is with this small community of those who know about this thread or who stumble across it. Also, without the titles, it keeps these hidden from Google searches and from the Trolls who come to snatch and grab. It is what it is, and that is how I do it and will not change. Well shit, I didn't know to look through the entire thread until earlier today, by which time I had been searching for the soundtrack for several days! It seems like a dick move to everyone (no offense) and is a real inconvenience.
Of course, I'm just grumpy over having been here several times and not knowing that what I was looking for was right here the whole time. I'm just ranting. But at least - at the VERY LEAST - have a master list in the first post saying what you have to offer so we can look for said soundtrack knowing we will find it.

It's not a "dick move". On another note, having it this way is to encourage you to share because you follow the thread daily because you never know what is going to show up. C'mon, you all have been enjoying things here that you most likely have never seen posted in any online community, right?

Honestly, I really don't know how to work the environment that I've been posting to for years. I started out trolling around to find my Disney music and had nothing to offer like most of you. As I searched the internet over the years, I found many goodies and also a lot of dung ( i.e. SHIT ) LOL. Then I had many titles, enough to be able to start sharing because nobody had some of them, so I had something to offer. I started out on William Taylor's thread and that was how it worked there ( everyone posted items on one continuous thread ). I thought that is how it works and also, it was awesome because I wouldn't have known to even search for most of the titles I found there being shared! This was a good thing for me especially when I started out looking for the Disney music. So, here we are today.... similar look and feel to what I experienced and thought was a good idea.

I spend a lot of time, more than you could ever imagine....seriously! Gathering all this and purchasing it, and editing all the metadata. I shouldn't say editing, because I am literally creating it for the FLAC since there isn't all kinds of utilities and programs available to do this to FLAC formats like there is for MP3 formats. Searching for art is a bitch, seems Google has caved to studios requests to hide these type of things because they are typically found with links to file sharing and you know they don't like that. I haven't figured out a way to use specific "search terms" to find art, for example, it is very difficult to find a back cover. If I search for XYZ back cover, I won't find anything or search for XYZ CD art, I won't find anything. I'll have to click into every entry I find in searches to "stumble" across a website that might have more art or all the art. I started putting everything I find onto MusicBrainz so everyone could benefit from all my work and endless hours of searching.

If anyone has come up with ways of searching that find the Back Cover , CD art , etc... please let me know how to search for these, please, that is why I've asked you all to share what you have with me, but only one person has done so. It's a real strain to find these things so any help is greatly appreciated.

It makes no sense. You upload stuff but don't include the names of the soundtracks you upload so people like me who are looking for said soundtrack(s) will NEVER find it/them. Apparently you spend a lot of time sending personal messages to people to let them know you have something. You find people who are looking for things you own: which can easily be avoided completely by just naming your darn uploads! Lol! This is just hilarious. You work yourself so hard for no reason. There are DOZENS of soundtracks here and MANY people will NEVER find them, and by the time you track them down and let them know you have what they're looking for they'd probably have already lost interest and think you're a stalker to boot. Regarding the "hidden soundtracks" issue: This is my first visit to this thread. Yes, I just went through 18 pages of posts. And quite honestly, I don't see what the fuss is about. It was fun sifting through everything. The big bright colourful covers pix make finding stuff pretty easy, and Mega is by far the user-friendliest download host. So I guess what I'm saying is: Well done, all available thumbs up, and carry on.

I would like to say thank you to supersoaker for everything on this site and thank you for the 500+ links to the Disney music in messages to me they have been keeping me busy for a cobble of months. I hope that you keep posting Disney music in this topic in flac format my question to you when you post a CD on mega why do you have a password that you have to enter after downloading the CDs that you have posted in this topic? I can never get the password right when I download the Cd's from you in this topic I hope that you have a merry Christmas and a happy new year and I am looking forworld to what you and everyone post on this site next year in Disney music.

I have to agree with PnoyoBellanote that you kind of are asking for too much at once. I can help you, though. The Frozen soundtrack is very easy to find. Just google it. I found it in flac before I even KNEW what flacs were. I converted them to mp3's back then and listened to those.. I was so innocent XD

Yes, I know. I'm happy to help people with some albums that they do not have, but yes, they should give back to the community as well. Chrisps, you should work on shortening your posts when they are requests. Length doesn't usually matter for shares, but try to request one thing at a time. You can't get everything at once.
Another thing is to try not to suck everything out of us, you need to share something as well. Just some advice.

I think that is a fan made set, not produced by Disney, and they have marked up the price to an unreasonable level. I would not waste your money. You could get each CD in slightly used condition on Amazon for around $10 each, and if you just want the music, and not the physical copy of the CD, I know these have all be shared in this forum in the past.

I remember seeing this CD set at Disneyworld a couple of years ago it is made by Disney I don't think that is worth the $140.00 that person is selling it for on Amazon. I think that you can find that Cd set for less at the Disneyparks at Disneyworld if they are still selling that Cd set at Disneyworld you might be able to find it at your local Disney store for less than or on Disneystore website. I am a big Disney music fan I remember that Cd set selling at Disneyworld for about 40 to $50.00 at the magic kingdom store it was only $25.00 in 2013 when I was there in the summer that year.mi don't remember what store it was sold at I think that it was the store near were the nighttime parade goes passed it was one of the first store you see on Main Street but I forget the name of the store but it selles a lot of Disneyworld stuff in the store but it is one of the frist store on Main Street going down to the castle near the hub I am sorry that I do not remember the name of the store but it is the frist place I looked for new Disneyparks CDs when I go to Disneyworld I thinkbthat is near the train station on Main Street but it was still being sold at the park in 2013 and in other stores at the Disneyworld resort.

Are Amy of the uploads in FLAC? Otherwise, I plan on purchasing each one individually. I won't really bother if I can get them in FLAC. Like I said previously, I tend to prefer to own the physical copy of albums rather than have an extensive digital library. This can be an expensive hobby though.

Buy them individually if you want the physical CDs, I bought that set when I was in Florida a few years back and it was nowhere near that expensive! If I can dig it out I'll try and upload it, I've not seen it in a couple of years since I left home!

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 (Walt Disney): Captain Jack Sparrow Will Be Back!

Walt Disney Pictures Pirates of the Caribbean 5, the next installment in the fantasy adventure film franchise series inspired by a Walt Disney theme park ride, opens in theaters on July 7, 2017. Originally set for a July 2015 showing, the release date had to be moved back to accommodate script rewrites. The Pirates of the Caribbean 5 movie, which has been officially titled Dead Men Tell No Tales, will be directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg based on a screenplay by Jeff Nathanson along with Stuart Beatie, Ted Elliot, Terry Rosio and Jay Wolpert. Franchise star Johnny Depp was also asked by Disney and executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer to collaborate with Nathanson on the script development.

Academy Award-winning actor Javier Bardem is now in talks with studio bosses to play the central antagonist in Disney's next Pirates of the Caribbean movie according to the Hollywood Reporter. If the deal pushes through, his role could be that of a ghost captain who is on a revenge mission against Jack Sparrow whom he blames for the death of his brother. Bardem's real-life wife, Penelope Cruz, starred in the last Pirates of the Carribean film (On Stranger Tides) as Angelica, Jack's former love interest whom he left stranded on an island.

Aside from Depp, the only other confirmed member of the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 cast is Geoffrey Rush who will continue to reprise his role as Captain Barbossa. However, it is widely rumored that Orlando Bloom will also be back to reprise his role as Will Turner, the Flying Dutchman's immortal captain. Other rumored Pirates of the Caribbean 5 cast include Keira Knightly, Christoph Waltz, Mackenzie Crook, Lee Arenberg, Martin Klebba, Jack Davenport, Mackenzie Crook, Martin Klebba, Lee Arenberg, and Keith Richards. Walt Disney Pictures Pirates of the Caribbean 5, the next installment in the fantasy adventure film franchise series inspired by a Walt Disney theme park ride, opens in theaters on July 7, 2017. Originally set for a July 2015 showing, the release date had to be moved back to accommodate script rewrites. The Pirates of the Caribbean 5 movie, which has been officially titled Dead Men Tell No Tales, will be directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg based on a screenplay by Jeff Nathanson along with Stuart Beatie, Ted Elliot, Terry Rosio and Jay Wolpert. Franchise star Johnny Depp was also asked by Disney and executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer to collaborate with Nathanson on the script development.

Academy Award-winning actor Javier Bardem is now in talks with studio bosses to play the central antagonist in Disney's next Pirates of the Caribbean movie according to the Hollywood Reporter. If the deal pushes through, his role could be that of a ghost captain who is on a revenge mission against Jack Sparrow whom he blames for the death of his brother. Bardem's real-life wife, Penelope Cruz, starred in the last Pirates of the Carribean film (On Stranger Tides) as Angelica, Jack's former love interest whom he left stranded on an island.

Aside from Depp, the only other confirmed member of the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 cast is Geoffrey Rush who will continue to reprise his role as Captain Barbossa. However, it is widely rumored that Orlando Bloom will also be back to reprise his role as Will Turner, the Flying Dutchman's immortal captain. Other rumored Pirates of the Caribbean 5 cast include Keira Knightly, Christoph Waltz, Mackenzie Crook, Lee Arenberg, Martin Klebba, Jack Davenport, Mackenzie Crook, Martin Klebba, Lee Arenberg, and Keith Richards. The film's casting is expected to be finalized within the next month or two. Filming is also expected to begin soon in Queensland, Australia, where a set for project is now being built at the Gold Coast Hinterland according to Coming Soon.

The thing no one remembers about the first movies is that Jack Sparrow wasn't the main character - he was a chaotic force of nature that effected the actual main story happening with Will and Elizabeth. When you take away the main characters (who had an amazing ending, I can't complain about that) and make it all about a character that can't really have an arc, you lose a lot. It really felt like there was an original draft that was mostly about the missionary guy and the mermaid that got completely thrown out the window after a focus group said they wanted more Jack in it, you know? (It also really, really missed the comic relief from Righetti and Pintel.) Plus, call me crazy: I kinda love the soundtrack, but did they "tone down" the Rodrigo Y Gabriela aspects on the final score? The guitar work really stands out in the tracks but I can barely hear it in the movie.

One the plus side, though: Stranger Tides was directed by Rob Marshall, a musical director that barely knows how to film a musical (I'm sure he's super nice.) Dead Men is going to be directed by Ronning and Sandberg, who directed the 2014 Kon Tiki, which was an excellently done film with a really delicate touch on grandiose special effects. It's on Netflix now, I highly recommend it if you want to get a little trust back.

I was looking at the track listings and noticed some new tracks:
Seize the Future 1:19, Bright Little Star 2:03, Fantasy in the Sky 7:37, and lastly, an extended version on Legacy that is instead titled Epcot Entrance Medley. This track is given the title "Legacy" in later releases and is only at 1:43, while the one on this CD is at 3:24. Can these tracks be found elsewhere?
If not, what do you guys think about buying this together to get a rip in FLAC, just for those who purchase it?

Well, reading through this thread, I can see where it went south and why some people gave up here.

Largely, most people contributing are using the wrong formats for a supposedly "lossless" thread.

This release is M4A, yes. But inside the m4a container is the lossy AAC format.

mwizman, all your m4a uploads are the lossy AAC. They're all under 100MB.

It's mentioned several times, but by now that m4a is a container.
Inside is either lossless ALAC or lossy AAC.
The software you're using needs to be configured to either one.
if you just leave it as defaults, or not touch the settings, then the default is to use lossy AAC.

Which is what most people asking for lossless ups are asking about.

I'm largely suspecting you're not 100% familiar with your software as you think you are.
You'd be able to make ALAC M4A if you were.

Unless the thread is not lossy/lossless sources.

I've tried double/triple spoilering with code boxes, even. After some time goes by, it is always searchable by Google.
However, Google is doing its best to not let pirated content end up in the top search results. Even though a lot does, there's still a lot more out there that doesn't.

I imagine bots and scripts can parse all the BBCode in this forum and string out every sentence, word and character in here and run against a list of trigger words that help people get the google search results they're looking for.

The fact that there's a link inside this thread is enough for Google bots to put down a marker for a live human operator to browse and check against any DMCA takedown notices that right in line with major studios wanting to enact on DMCA Takedown notices.

I don't see a password for most archives coming from the first generation of contributors to this thread.

This thread is pretty all over the place. Any sane employee looking for DMCA Takedowns wouldn't have fun.

This year, is the Disney's 60th birthday. I believe that pay a few dollars more worth it.
Twenty years ago I went to his fortieth anniversary, and still remember it as if it had been a few days ago. My daughter also remembers him with great joy.
The May 22 of this year, will be the official announcement of the specials for the anniversary.
Between the rumours is the return of "The Electrical Parade" to Main Street in Disneyland. I am already planning to be there in July 17.

The Main Street electrical parade will not be coming to the Disney resort for the 60th anniversary it was officially announced back in January what new stuff that Disneyland is getting for the 60th anniversary this year they are getting a new fireworks show and a new nighttime electrical parade named paint the night electrical parade it is like the one at Hong Kong Disneyland. I think that the electrical parade will look really cool at Disneyland this summer. I also know that Disney said in announcemt that they are going to do something new to the worlds of Color. I wanted to be at Disneyland this year for the 60th anniversary but I will not be there is year I was looking forward to seeing the new paint the night electrical parade and the new fireworks show but I will just have to watch both of them on YouTube this year. I am a big fan of the Main Street electrical parade I have seen the original electrical parade at Disneyworld in early 1980s and again in 1990 and again in 1999 and again in the summer of 2013 but it is not same parade anymore because they changed the music in the parade to be like the dream lights electrical parade in Tokyo Disneyland. If the main strret electrical parade ever comes back to Disneyland and goes down main strret in Disneyland again I would try to be there to see the Main Street electrical parade at Disneyland again if it ever comes back to Disneyland sometime soon.
