Despite double checking everything I somehow managed to forget to tag the vocalists on CD 10. >_<
I've uploaded corrected files (113 MB) for those that don't want to edit the files themselves. Same password as always.
https://mega.co.nz/#!6B4nSQRT!Fdmuy1gsy2FQxtCfjEyFB8vFsAmv1x3HTkhlWO1 IsR4
The affected files are the following:
Track 1, 10, 14, 20, 21, 30, 33, 34. Vocals: "Ritsuyukai Choir (栗友会合唱団)"
Track 2. Vocals: Masako Hayashi (林正子)
Track 29. Vocals: "Mai (麻衣)"
I am in the process of re-uploading the entire box again and will replace the link in the original post when I'm done.
I won't be removing the old files from my MEGA for at least a few days, in case someone is still downloading them.
Edit: DONE.

I updated the first post with a link to the pictures. It's really awkward to open the booklet with one hand while photographing with the other, since there are so many pages, so the booklet tries to close itself. If only I had three hands. I hope you are able to read most of what's written.

I have edited the original scan of the box front because there was this shadow that my OCD wouldn't let me bypass... I hope it's okay for me to leave the edited image here on this forum as an alternate copy of the box front cover art! If it is not desired for me to do this, just let me know and I will remove the image.
Once again, Thank you BoneSatyr for this AMAZING rip/upload that you have provided to the masses! It must have taken ages to rip this masterpiece and there sure was a lot of scanning you ended up doing for this box!
Here is a download link for the PNG file (same resolution as original - 3343 x 3307)

That's fine with me. I always try to remove hairs or dirt when I crop the scans, that show up because there are always tiny hairs flying around here from my cats. I see now that I missed some on the front. Other than that I usually let the scans be, so as to look as much as the original item as possible. If you want a picture perfect front for your digital music collection/wallpaper/etc. however, your picture is great for that. But fixing 100s of scans to look better than the original is something I will never have time for. So thanks for taking the time to polish the cover picture.
Edit: Man, after seeing those hairs inside the letters on the front, I just had to open up Photoshop again and edit them out. I blame the sheer number of scans for missing such big strands of hair.
Here's the edited image, even more edited.
I edited the original scan as well, so there are no pieces of hair anywhere. The picture can be found in the download link in the original post (fixed for both FLAC and Ogg). This is only for people like myself who really get annoyed at seeing those tiny imperfections. No reason to download it if you don't even notice it.

Yea, I understand... I have cats too and hair gets in even the most unexpected places, ugh... I also scanned A LOT of my old family photos and had to deal with destroying the hair off the scans in Photoshop and I have spent HOURS editing all of the dust and finger prints of of said scans so I know how time consuming that can be. You know, I did edit the hair that I found but I think at some point I used alt+ctrl+z and went too far back in the edits... I was tired and wanted to be done.
Thank you for the "hairless" cover that you linked to, I shale enjoy viewing it as I listen to this amazing soundtrack!

I don't know what's wrong with MEGA, since I've never had this problem before. Due to space shortage I had to remove the original rars when I finished uploading everything, so I have to re-upload all 5 files now that I've fixed the cover. Please hold.

All FLAC links have been re-uploaded now, with the fixed cover included in the package.
I have no idea who banzio is, no.
Edit: In the off-chance that someone does not have track 22-24 on CD 09, here is a link for only those files. Someone reported not getting the files when unpacking the archive. No idea how that happened since the files were there when I checked.

I had that problem too, it seems that the mega server that hosts part 4 is undergoing maintenance, you have to wait a little while.
It took me like 5 hours to be able to download it

I tried to download all 5 parts a moment ago, with JDownloader and with Firefox, and it worked perfectly.
You can download the part but it has a really slow download speed then says temporary error retrying, then just doesnt do anything. I thought it was my computer so I tried downloading a different mega file which worked. Then trying again with your file and it did the same thing. So basically waited and retried for about 5 hours then it worked.

Oh I didn't mean the physical box. I meant in the folder, 5 different folders are shown saying "Studio Ghibli 'Hayao Miyazaki & Jou Hisaishi' Soundtrack BOX" and then numbers them 1-4 with the first being unnumbered. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do something special with that...

Err, it sounds like you have unpacked the files 5 times, and somehow created a new folder each time. All you need to do is put all files in the same folder and extract part1.rar with WinRAR or 7zip and that's it. The rars only contain 13 CDs and there are no duplicates in the package.

02-20-2015, 06:14 PM
I'm not sure what you're asking exactly, but I hope I got it right.
Since I have shared an entire folder on MEGA, the link goes to that folder, and not the separate files. Only I can get the separate links to each file. If you want the real link to the folder I have shared, you just replace "mega:" with "
https://mega.co.nz/", in the URL in your browser, when you are browsing the folder with the files.
mrmusician

Sorry but you didn't understand me, what i mean is that can i get the links to each seperate file in this folder, because i want to put each link of the 5 parts in a premium downloader, the link to folder is mega.co.nz originally, i have problem of stopping each download when i download from the page, sometimes the download stop with this phrase: error, try again later, or the page just crashed and i have to reload the page again and this causes me to be mad because i have to download again from starting, when i get each link to the five part i can put each one ( externally) in a premium link download and it won't be cut, i hope you got it. Thank you again.
BoneSatyr
02-20-2015, 07:33 PM
Ok. I'm not sure how you are downloading the files, but if you haven't tried already, I would recommend using JDownloader (
http://www.jdownloader.org/). That way you can download every file in a folder separately, and resume at any moment. I'll send you a pm with the links for now anyway.
mrmusician
02-20-2015, 07:50 PM
Thanks for the links truely appreciated, but could you give me a way on how to get links of the parts for any folder?
BoneSatyr
02-20-2015, 08:48 PM
Well, you can't exactly do that. When you copy the URL to a folder with a program like Jdownloader, it loads all the files that are in the folder. But it can't copy the links to each file separately, since those links don't exist. Only the person who uploaded the files can create links to each separate file. You can download all files in the folder one at a time, but if you check the links for all the separate files there, they will all point to the folder.
I was only able to send you separate links to those files by logging into my account and creating links to every individual file myself. Hope that clears it up.

I tried to download the Ogg files just a moment ago now, and it unpacked just fine. Are you sure you have written the password exactly as mentioned? Can Windows handle the long file names where you are unpacking it to? Try unpacking it to the root of your hard drive. Have you tried re-downloading the file? It is most likely a simple problem on your part, since there is nothing wrong with the file.

Since I'm not at all familiar with Macs I can't really be of much help. The file is fine, so the way I see it, either you are not able to fully download the file or get checksum errors along the way, you need a different program to unpack the file, or maybe you need to unpack the archive to a different location. I suggest you try Googling your problems and see if you can find an answer somewhere. Hope you figure it out.

I've seen this problem before, and I still don't know why it happens. According to MEGA I have used 0% of my weekly bandwidth, so it can't be related to that. Keep trying for a few days and it should work eventually. The files are online in my account, but for some reason those two files refuses to download for me as well. I have no idea how to avoid this problem, and oddly enough it has only happened with this specific upload, and this is the second time.

Alright, I'll keep trying.
try switching browers to see if that helps.
I've already tried multiple browsers, I was first using JD2 which uses MEGA's API, but when that failed I then tried Opera (with MEGA plugin) and Safari (which MEGA "doesn't support"), which both failed. Since BoneSatyr is having the problem it suggests it's MEGA's fault.
Strangely enough, this is the first time I've encountered a problem like this with MEGA.

I just downloaded this and I personally want to say thanks for uploading it, it's a pretty nice box, I just have one question. The point of this box is to re-release the soundtracks of the Ghibli movies by the director of the box, BUT ALSO apparently because it's a remaster done in HQCD. Now this is where I question.. and no offense, I trust your word, but.. is the HQCD quality present in your rips? Is there a huge difference in quality between the original soundtrack releases and this box? With such tiny filesizes.. common for just a CD and such compression, do your rips really keep all the quality that the box apparently showcases?
When the Joe Hisaishi box was released, someone with the original releases of the albums compared the spectrums of both releases and found that they were identical. HQCD is just a fancy word for getting people to believe they are getting better quality music when it is just the same thing, but manufactured a slightly different way (afaik). So regarding music quality, this will sound just the same as the CDs from the '80s and '90s sounded, unless maybe if you have a HQCD player in your stereo and listen to the physical disc, then it might sound better, but I don't know that for sure since I don't have one.
I purchased this box solely because it compiles a lot of Ghibli soundtracks that I enjoy into one box (same with the other box), so I don't have to buy loads of albums separately, and I also didn't own a single one of them before.
BoneSatyr
09-18-2015, 03:57 PM
Wow.. that's a bit of a scum, then and no big deal.. sucks, but anyway, I do understand your point, anyway, I'd buy it too for collecting sake's, because it's really pretty besides I've got no Ghibli soundtrack phsyically. Anyway I'm still weirded how a 13 CD box set can weight just 3 GB being FLAC. Thanks for replying though, I wasn't saying your upload was bad, I thank you still mostly for the cool scans you did. And I also wonder if the Ghibli music could really use a 2015 remastering anyway, would there be a difference really?
No worries. If they remaster it now, you can expect them to just increase the volume to infinity so it all sounds terrible. Pretty much what they do with all new music nowadays. :<
BoneSatyr
09-18-2015, 04:17 PM
You got a point. I'm no audiophile, but the Ghibli collection I have doesn't really sound too bad.
I mean, anyone who knows about sound would tell us how could a proper remastering be done?
The Ghibli movies and soundtrack aren't TOO old to really NEED a remaster unless it's to really improve the sound scape field or whatever
I don't know a lot about remastering either, but in my experience remastering often means they just increase the volume of everything and often make it sound worse. I recently purchased a remastered version of an old rock album from 1990, and it sounded terrible compared to the original album. It was as if it was recorded inside a drum. Remastering movies to get rid of all kinds of dull colours and grain or whatever is one thing, but I can't say I have a lot of faith in the whole audio remastering process, since it often doesn't seem improve anything, it's mostly a way to sell more copies of the same thing that everyone already has.

Remastering means to pass the original recording thorugh a new mixing studio to bump up, clean, remove areas, emphasis on more other parts when needed. this is a very hard and delicated kind of work! Remastering sometimes sounds different than the original due to time constraints studio has when releasing a movie; remastering means they finally gave their touch on how it should really would hear if they could spend 150% on the final score.
