Why is it 48khz sampling rate?

The signal is 44,100Hz, the re-sampler is up-sampling to 48,000Hz which is making the file size larger and has no improvement in sound quality- it's trying to add bits of information that simply isn't there. I recommend you rip at 44,100Hz/16 bit which matches the Sony/Philips Red Book Audio standard (44,100Hz/16bit, pretty much 99% of commercially released CDs). I'm not telling you this to be ungrateful for you to contribute, but to save yourself and others from inferior rips, and an upscale of a signal is inferior because it's adding nothing in improvement. What it subjectively sounds like to you is irrelevant, as the numbers are objective.
