Title: Tchaikovsky - 1812
Artist: Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra/Kunzel
Year: 1978
This Release: 1979
Label: Telarc
Format: Flac
Size: 137 MB
Scans included
I pick the wrong Kunzel 1812 thread to restart but I like this vintage digital re-recording better anyway.
Under the Telarc label, Numero Uno for this orchestra and I think one of the first digital recordings in the record industry. Pre-CD era. For me,this is still the definitive version of the 1812 overture, even after 41 years. I also have this one on cassette tape and it too has high quality sound.
Post in thread requesting a link.

Yesssss... I was really hoping you had this one. I was looking through my digital library when I realized I didn't actually have a full version of the 1812 Overture (just the crescendo, which hardly counts). PM sent!
Topsy,
I may have just goofed. Check your box and see which format I sent you. If you didn't get the one of choice,PM me again.

Thank you so much! The 1812 Overture has to be my all-time favorite piece of classical music, harkening back to ninth grade county band. I can't wait to give this a spin!

I picked the wrong Kunzel 1812 thread to restart. This isn't the 2001 DSD version but I prefer the vintage recording anyway. Open again.
