Doldinger and Petersen collaborated very successfully on "Das Boot". This is not quite on the same level, I think, but there are some fine tracks to be found, especially the "flying" melody (Flug auf dem Gl�cksdrachen, Atreyu's Flug etc.) is great. I remember back in the day I was a big fan of Limahl's title song. Haven't heard it in a while, probably shouldn't.

Anyway, a big thank you, Maxwell, for sharing.

I uploaded the international release of the soundtrack in this thread, (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/neverending-story-%95-soundtrack-1986-klaus-doldinger-178135) if anyone wants it. And yes, "Das Boot" was a very successful film at its time and Doldinger's score very exciting. I'll upload it in a couple of days.

This share is great, I don't have to download it because I own the CD for many years.
Doldinger is a pretty good composer, unfortunately his film music is underrepresented on CD. You'll get tons of his Jazz work but very few of his nice film scores.

As I said earlier, I prefer this release instead of the international Doldinger/Moroder combi, as the overall musical presentation is much better. as is the sound quality. Moroder's electronic tracks just don't fit to the rest of Doldinger's symphonic score. It's the same as Legend (1985), when you put Jerry Goldsmith's score together with Tangerine Dream's synth-pop - it just don't work on this basis ;)

Thanks but what is the source for this? The files are 48 KHz (that's not the cd standard). But in the spectrograms the space between 20-24 KHz is empty. It seems that has been upconverted or something.

I mistakenly converted the album in 48 KHz, so it's my fault after all. But the quality is fine :)
